Places that you wish had a DG course

On New Years Day, I took my wife and daughter on a little day trip outside of Orlando to Lake Wales, FL to see the historic Bok Tower Gardens. The place was absolutely gorgeous. The gardens are top notch and the entire property is elevated on a hill. In fact, Lake Wales in general is nothing but hills. The property is riddled with little ponds tucked away in perfectly maintained gardens.. majestic oaks, fairways of all flavors, wooded, open and elevation galore (for Florida at least).

The ENTIRE time I was there I kept spotting the perfect basket locations and tee spots. I would joke with my wife around every corner that I wanted to go back to my car and grab my discs. Finally she got annoyed and asked me, "is that ALL you think about!?" and I simply shrugged my shoulders and sighed, "well, in a place like this? how can I think of anything else?" lol

I know it would probably never happen in a million years, but Bok Tower Gardens could host one of the neatest DG courses in Florida if allowed; hence the idea for this discussion.

I know I'm not alone here. How many of you have gone to a place that would likely never install a course but you can't help but daydream about teeing off and hearing chains the entire time you are there?

Yeah, I've been there a few times and got the same response from my wife. Bottom line though.....Hell would most definitely have to freeze over before they'd even consider allowing a course at Bok Tower gardens. But it is good to dream. HA!

oh man.. @Bok Tower, back behind the historic house there.. that open field that goes downhill to a little pond.. We walked back there and didn't see a soul. If only I could sneak my practice basket down there off to the side where it wasn't too obvious. I would love to go up top that hill to one of the lookout points and throw a few down that long winding fairway. I'd get thrown out of there so fast! lol

Are you kidding I do that walking through the local mall. If I start in Target skirt the food court go through Dicks, J.C. Penny, Gander Mountain, and end in Sears I could have an awesome 18 hole par 3 course.

One thing for sure...you'd have a better chance in that Mall than at these Gardens Matt and I know of....wouldn't be as sweet of a course.

I always want to rip one into the Sunglass Hut...or a big hyzer bomb into the Gap.

If your going to rip one into the Sunglass Hut use a Vision. I'm not sure what disc would be approate for the Gap, but you could hyzer bomb a XXX into Victoria Secerts without a problem. While your at it, you might flip a Roadrunner into the Warner Brothers Store, and send a Coyote chasing after it.
