I would like to know how other golfers practice. Personally, I go out 1 - 2 days a week to a local football field to work on my drives, I try to practice my putting at least one day a week and I play about twice a week. I've been playing for 10 months and am generally scoring around par on the two courses I play frequently. I want to keep getting better, any ideas?

hey now, putting in your backyard for two fifteen minute rounds. This would be the Mark Ellis putting practice exercise.Starting from 5 ft putts to expand to 30 ft.Miss and start over.Try with your opposite hand also, never know when that shot will come in handy.Practice your putts.Peace
Along with all the great advice here, play as many top notch courses as often as you can. Playing great courses makes great players! Thats the best advice Ive gotten since Ive started playing... Thanks MR. B! I've started playing courses like Grand Woods & Fitzgerald in MI and the Toronto Island DG course here in Canada ... I have all ready shaved 5 throws off my personal best this season. Also playing with really good players or at least players that would be competitive in your division really helps too. JMO
I have a soccer, football to the rest of the world (lol), field to practice at. Work on a smooth form with good follow through first, distance will come after. Three to four times a week for a 1/2 hour to 40 minutes with emphasis on a different type throw each time is what I try for to maintain my driving. As for putting its the same ammount of time, but all week. Stay concentrated on your body position and alignment, notice what works for you. Try to golf with a better golfer if possible, it will make you inspired to golf better, well myself anyway.
Dang, good idea, im gonna get a basket and bring it to work with me and play on my down times now too.
While waiting on other players to get to the course we get a couple of guys around and play a round or 2 of 21. just like in basket ball but with a disc. helps out putting practice and warm up before a round.
