Putting Help....

I seem to be a decent putter inside 30 ft but when I step back to 40 or 50 it's a whole new animal..  Do any of you know some good putting excercises or styles or grips that I could try to help me out with the longer putts ?

Learn how to jump (or step through) putt. Really all that is needed is a weight shift forward to help get that inertia. Remember to keep the disc low and straight. The tendency alot of times is to throw too high when doing a jumper. If your NOT a straddle putter just a simple "step through" with good momentum will get that putter coming out like a bullet. Just don't miss the basket and you should be ok :) I push off w/ my left foot before the relase of the disc. Proper timing is key to getting a clean release, and not feeling like you have to throw the disc hard to get it there. I feel more confident at 35-40' than I do from 20-25' And make sure to keep your plant foot down until after you release the disc.... Hope this helps!

Take your putters to the 40 foot line and putt until you get them to stay in...
Take your putters to the 50 foot line and putt until you get them to stay in...
Rinse, Repeat.
Each practice outing builds upon the last, you must go practice regularly to get better.
Compare to School...if you did not study, you did not get a good grade.

Scott's right on...rinse, repeat!!! As far as jump putting goes...not everyone can do it. It takes a lot of practice, some hint of rhythm and coordination. ;)

Just practice long puts. And if you get the chance to practice in a strong tail wind I recomend it, cuz it encourages snapping the putter hard and straight. (Jump putting is cool for some people, but who even knows if it will be legal in 6 months)

This is what i've been doing FWIW: take a handfull of putters and start at the fringe of my comfort zone (currently around 25'). Once I make a putt, I take one step back and try another. I keep taking a step back for every putt I make. In other words, I keep putting at a given interval until I sink one. I carry 5 putters and find that if I successfully sink all 5, the last putt is in the 42' range(approx.).

At a certain distance (out) the throw becomes more of a modified drive than a putt. Just take a little power off of your drive & pull through to the basket naturally. Nothing but birdies & eagles for you my friend!

I know some who will putt a Disc 3-5 grams lighter from outside the circle.

Well there you go. IMO putting stops at 10 meters. Everything else is an up shot ;)~

Start off where your comfortable, make 4 or 5 out of 5 and then move back 5'. Throw 5 more and when you make 4 out of the 5 move another 5' back and then keep repeating the process.

Id recommend only moving back a max of 10' until you're extremely comfortable with your first 5' move.
