I used to line up on a line (with my throwing arm forward), but i recently have been making the move to the "straddle" form. By putting in the straddle form it helps me keep the disc on a straight line to the basket and eliminate my my left-to-right misses almost completely. The only thing i noticed was it takes a bit m ore effort to throw...say...25+ feet. I figured i just have to learn on how to use my legs more.

Any suggestions or helpful hints are welcome

Just aim at the center of the pole and release !!
I switched to straddle putting this year....definitely taken a lot of strokes off my game, as my most common miss was the left to right.

I usually don't get perfectly perpendicular with my feet though....left is about 6" further back than the right, and moreso as the distance increases.

for putts inside the circle I usually just let it go, however for stuff a little longer, or near the edge of the circle (or uphill, etc.) I do get a little more pronounced spring out of the legs.....kind of a mini jump putt I guess you could say.

Also, I'm not sure what kind of grip you're using, I just use a pretty basic fan grip to putt with (first knuckle on the index finger tucked, pinky tucked under the rim, and ring & middle under the flightplate), but when I'm trying to get a little extra pop to either avoid shorting something in the 25-35' range, or on a longer approach (125-150' and in I usually do a standstill staggered putt) I stack my ring finger on the pinky. It's not a gigantic difference in power, but for me it's certainly noticeable, and helps ensure I get there.
I use to line up with the basket and everything... I would always miss slightly left of the chains. Then i started to just walk up look at the basket and shoot and was more accurate. Now i walk up mark my spot and i never even look at the basket. I will look down till my turn then look up set and throw it works alot better i feel. As for 40+ i have to jump put there between 40-100 i have a good anny towards the basket its a nice kjump putt. Other than that the straddle helps but, only when i feel it ya know?
yea, i'm still going to be using both styles if and when the the situation presents itself. But as far asmy basic standard '25 and in.....it's straddle from now on.
