The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I have 21 rounds rated.  I have two rounds dropped. a 734 and like a 780something. The rest of mine are from 860- 933. I had two god awlful rounds this weekend at 808 and 811. I had to good rounds at like 950 and 912. The two rounds that are dropped are going to be over a year old now. I was wondering if you think those rounds this weekend would be dropped or not. thanks a lot.  I also have like 4 other rounds not in the update from like 879- 899.

Ratings are kinda funny.. but I'll do my best to tell you what I know.
I believe your most recent 25 rounds are counted. I think your highest rated round ever determines what rated rounds will be dropped from your rating. If you shoot a round rated around 100 points below your highest rated round I think that is how it gets dropped off. I think.
so even though I have rounds over a year they won't disappear?
All rated rounds you have played and have been reported to the PDGA within 12 months of your most recently rated round will be included in the calculation. However, if any one of those ratings is either more than 100 points below your average rating or more than 2.5 standard deviations below your rating – whichever number is smaller – that round will not be included. That works out to about 1 in 50 rounds getting dropped. Rounds where you DNF (Do Not Finish) are never counted in your rating. The most recent 25% of your rounds get double weighted which slightly boosts your rating if you have been steadily improving. If a player has fewer than 8 rounds in the past 12 months, since their most recent round, then we’ll go back up to another 12 months until we find up to 8 rounds but never go back any farther than a total of 24 months.

I'm thinking they will be dropped because, they will be 2.5 deviation points below after my rounds from last year are gone. Hoping to go over 900 for the first time. at least get those two bad rounds gone and I will be really close.
so you answered your own question?
LOL, yeah....I think you did. I was just getting ready to post what longneck just posted.
