Ribbon or Yarn for finding you disc in the snow?

I allways hear about people using streamers on their discs. I've never tried this my self cause I'm usually really good at finding them. To be honest I've lost more this winter then ever and I'm getting kinda sick of it.
This weekend is our Ice Bowl in Ann Arbor and I was thinking about trying out the Streamer method on my drivers so I dont lose them or get stroked for taking to long finding them. i wanted to know what works best for a streamer.. Yarn or Ribbon? and Duct Tape or Masking? to hold it on. Or basically and tips on this method.
I'm also concerned about changing the flight of my drive by the addition of string. so any advice would be great. say if I usually throw a Averger. should I try a SS avenger ??.

If you have any old cassettes tapes your willing to destroy they work the best. Duct Tape is better then masking tape but there is a medical type of tape that works even better. I can't remember the specifics on the tape but I'll bet someone out there knows.

Gift wrapping ribbon works well, I use a couple layers of scotch tape applied at room temp. on the bottom center of the disc. Sctoch tape keeps the additonal weight down, just don't pick the disc up by the ribbon or it'll tear the tape. Also, fold the ribbon at an angle before you tape it on, this helps prevent the ribbon being pulled out.
Used mine on everything except putters at the Flip City Ice Bowl last saturday!

Medical tape is a great idea.. I work at a hosp so I kinda got a line on it .... Thanks for all the ideas..

Also if you use gift wrap ribbon don't get the wide stuff. The narrower the ribbon the less affect it will have on disc flight. The narrowest I have seen is 1/8"

And that's why healthcare is so expensive, too many disc golfers working at hospitals stealing tape for snow golf! LOL

i tried it last weeekend for the first time, i used 1/4 inch ribbon taped to the bottom of the disc with packing tape, i put it in the disc while the disc was warm and didnt have any trouble with it staying on, but i am sure there is a better choice tape out there, i made the mistake initially of making the ribon to long which allowed it to get tangled in my legs and or my arm and was very distracting, so i cut them down to about 2 1/2 to 3 feet long aand it worked ok, i did notice it made the disc fly more stable, so you you probably will want to throw less stable discs, overall i am still on the fence with this, as overall it ended up still being a distraction and as the snow here had turned kinda crusty and wasnt letting the disc burry itself to often, i ended up ripping the ribbons off halfway thru the first and only time i tried it.

I have never tried this method I have also heard of people putting the lights on the disc same as night golf. Never have tried that either. I Might do the ribbons Sunday at the ice bowl

Fresh snow wold be good for the first group first round. And yes i want spring or a melt down

If it's gunna snow, I'd rather it come down with a fury.. Looking for a disc cut mark with a ton of foot stomp marks is for the birds.
