River vs Leopard

Which do u prefer and is there a need for both to be in the bag?

Rivers kind of like a longer Leopard with just a tad less stability. I carry both, because I use the River on "I don't care if I loose it holes". I do this because my Leopard is in Pro Line plastic and I don't want to loose it. I just need to sack up and ditch the River since I like the Leopard better, but it's only because I like the feel of the Leopard in my hand more than the River.

So if you can, throw them both and make up your own mind about them.

overall yeah throw em both. I compared mine to a TB when i got it and didn't look back. I threw a leo before that was a long time ago. I haven't thrown a Pro Line leo so i can't help there to what Rescue said. It may be a tad more understable, well worth the money. Either disc will feel great in the hands, just try em out :) I still say get that River!

I threw Leopards, then went to the River. Then, I spent a lot of time wishing I had a Leopard. So, I am back to Leopards again.

Both are really nice discs and a staple for each manufacturer. The River has a little more glide and holds a lower line. The leopard has a little more fade at the end. The River doesn't turn and burn like the Leopard, rather it just continues to turn further right than one would like. I personally carry 2 weights of Rivers

See, I never understood it. I hear people talk of the River almost as a Turn Over disc. I had probably 7-8 different Rivers, in GL, Opto, AND Test Run Plastic, before I took the Rivers out of my bag. EVERY River I have touched was like a Straighter Teebird out of my hand. I Could Not turn one over. They seemed way more stable than even my max weight Champion Leopards. That was why I missed the Leopard. I can at least Turn over the Leopard, or Flex it. I couldn't with the Rivers. BTW, I really appreciate your reviews and comparisons, Dook. Please, Keep them coming.

Hmmmm... I've thrown rivers in every type of plastic and close to max weight and they all have flown understable. Great disc!! Would not compare it to a tbird tho. Maybe u r throwing it wrong. ;)

LOL! That's what I am Saying! A Teebird was a Meethook for me, the last time a threw one, which was a long time ago. The River actually flew, for me, like I had wished the Teebird would fly. Nice and straight for 3/4's of it's flight, then a nice slow, but predictable fade. But, I sure never could turn over a River. Which I don't get. I could turn over a Riot, I even had ONE Striker I could turn, but NOT a River!

Disc Craft XL. still glidy/flippy/straight, but not to the point that a head wind will destroy my shot. The cheetah is also very nice.

I carry both a 175 Opto River and a 175 Glow Leopard in my bag.  My Leopard is considerably more stable than my River, to the point where I don't consider them to be comparable discs beyond the fairway driver catagory.  In fact I picked up the River because my Leopard was too stable and was more similar to my 175 Champ TeeBird.  Maybe my Leopard is wacky or something.
