Heading to San Francisco on January 6th. Bringing the bag of course!

I'm staying right next to Golden Gate Park where I will play mostly, but does anyone have some other suggestions for courses fairly close to the area?

Stafford and Dela being my recommendations.
Thanks a lot, Nick
All Good Courses. I love DeLaVega in Santa Cruz !!!
Not much around. GGP is a great course. If you head north approx 45 min. There is Safforfd Lake. It's $5 to park. You have to walk approx a half a mile to get to the course. It's a big arm course and you need a spotter on some holes. It's on par with De La.. If you go another 30 min north east. There is a nice course in Napa (Skyline Wilderness Park) $5 to park and approx quarter mile walk to the course. This course is a gem. You will need every throw in your bag, but it's a blast. VERY well maintained course. Brooms on just about every teepad. Plus you get to enjoy the Napa Valley afterwards with Sonoma Valley just next door. If you dig wine, thats the course.
Now De La is in Santa Cruz and that's an awesome drive down the cost, but it will take you approx 2 hours to get there. However Santa Cruz is an awesome beach town. The Boardwalk is a blast, but most likely will be closed during the weekday. The downtown is great though (Front St.) and Pizza My Heart is a must for grub.
Hope this helps. I grew up and still live in the area. So if you want or need some "non tourist" ideas. Just let me know.

Peace.
Oh, forgot about Berkely. It's in the Aquatic Park. During the right time of day it's about 30 min. away. Wrong time of day about 2 hours!lol!!. It's an OK course. Alot of water and the wind can be brutal. Not one of my favorites, but it's the closest of all.
Thanks a lot Rescue, I appreciate the responses! I'm sorta bummed with the amount of choices, but at least GGP is right across the street!
Ya slim pickens. Land is just too $$$$$ in the bay area, but if you have the time and can make the drive. Napa and De La are off the hook.
I'm staying with my brother, and he will be working during the week while I'm there, so I don't think I'll have much access to his vehicle. :( If you make it out to golden gate let me know though!
I will update this summary as information changes. If anyone has different or updated information to the above, please post it to this thread and I will incorporate it.
for sure check out Stafford Lake and De La.
