The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Here are some examples from last weekend. Our player package included a publication with wrong info.(some played from the wrong pads) The flyer claimed lunch would be provided both days,Day one I found a few cold cut wedges that had been unattended for hours with mayo(in 98 degree heat)that the flies were feasting on and nothing on day two. It was hot and they let the water coolers run out early without ever refilling them. The first course needed a trash cleanup bad! A guy in my group steped on a rusty nail sticking out of a board. The second course was unmowed.(SOOO weak)The T.D. bitched us out sunday morning because of the bad attitude of a/some pros(B.H.)you all know who. Then didnt seem to care about explaining the O.B.s or the tees we should use.Shawn H. goes to our tourneys to help, not to babysit staff that can't add.Worst of all last year I was so impressed by the courses and the staff, way to drop the ball!                                                                       Steve B. 5495

Where was the event?
Yeah...that was my first event here. I wasn't too impressed with how things were explained or the lack of care of Tom Brown Park. The T.D. does not like the course...and everyone else loves it. He wants us to use Jack Maclean more...and a lot of us do. But as you know no beginner can go out there and have a good time. So they don't. He tried to pay too much attention to Jack Maclean Park. T.B. should have been mowed and lines should have been laid down. O.B.'s were vague and that bothered me quite a bit. A simple line would have fixed that. I am trying to form a new club that could be more active about what goes on here. The guys who have been taking care of things have been doing it longer than anyone would like. Trying to find active younger members seems to be a hard find here. Which is why it is hard to maintain on our own here. Putting on our own tourney's instead of the city doing it. Hopefully that will change...thanks again for making your way over even though it was far from a great event.
It sounds like you guys need some enthusiastic amateurs!
I don't think I've had all that happen before, but definitely some things. I can understand why you'd feel that way as I would as well.
Seems to be a lot of turnover in the Club/TD/Course Maintenance arena.

I've played a Worlds where they ran out of water during a heat wave. Since then I don't trust any tournament TD to provide water or players to take only what they need, and now I provide my own. And, I provide my own food also. If the tournament has food then that is an extra, not something I'm going to depend on.

OB lines not marked well...can lead to all kinds of crazy stuff!!!!!!!!
Especially at NITE!
Am. Nats this weekend in Milford Michigan was awesome there was breakfast ( fruit, beagles, muffins oatmeal coffee etc...) and for lunch there was hot dogs hamburgers and for the players cheese steaks, there were snakes o plenty and coolers full of waters and power aid on every other hole . it is a phenomenally run event with lizard games for tons of prizes after each round every day . spotters on most holes and the t.d. and discraft did one hell of a job. so it all depends on the t.d.s mindset does HE want to make money or does HE want the event to be awsome and keep players happy and give them a good tourney experience. sound like your t.d. wanted to make a lil money
They served DOGS for breakfast? Sounds like Viet Nam.
Cheese steaks!!!!!!!! Y'all got it goin' on!!!
I under stand the need to make money to fund other things but there's a lot of people trying to put money in there own pocket to at the expence of the event. I know am nats is a big deal and has a lot of support but if you say there will be lunch and water provided then there should be. And I did see a snake and a hawk and a momma racoon with her baby neerly get hit by a disc
THEY HAD SNAKES AT AM NATS? I wish I woulda went.
I looked back at thier flyer today ,under notes it said lunch both days and 3 to open a division.those were both lies also. They dont belong on the tour.
