i was told that once u accepted cash u were ineligible to play am events such as bowling green am championships, am nats, and am worlds. but ive also been told that if u accept cash u are eligible to play these events as long as ur rating is below 970. i want to kno exactly how this works. plz somebody set this straight for me! it would be greatly apreciated.

Once you have accepted cash you can still play am1 as long as your rating is below 970.  You are ineligible to play majors, such as am nats bowling green etc,  as an am unless you first petition the pdga to reinstate your am status.  The difference is if the event is considered a major or just an event with amateur divisions. 
Bowling Green is a big event but it is not a Major that prevents pros with ratings under 970 from entering. The only Majors a pro including older pros who has a rating under 970 cannot enter an Am division are: Worlds, Nationals,World Dubs, US Masters and USWDGC.
