From a message I received this afternoon about baskets stolen at the private "Lacey Inn" course north of Ann Arbor:

ALL - We suspect teenagers who have seen our course via the teens that live next door to us, but cannot be sure. Not many people know our course that well, and these were taken from the back of the property. No roads within 1/4 mile, and they took the only truly portable baskets. We are investigating that front, but doubt we will get much.

While I doubt we will find them, I am hoping whoever took these will attempt to sell them. Blue and Green (faded) Skill Shots. The Green is heavily faded, and the Blue (a White's Acres donation) requires a pencil or other obstacle to stay open. I am less concerned about the baskets (although I would like them back), and more concerned about the names of those responsible. If you come across any information on the local courses, please give me a call (number below).

There is a flyer attached. I am going to put a couple up at Kensington.

Thanks
Matt

What a shame,get a life losers.
That is sad to hear. I hope karma gets the best of who ever stole them.
I hope they find out who they are, I want to see people like this start being caught and have to replace what they steal/ruin. Too bad, I will pass this info along to my DG friends around the A2 area.
You know, someone stole a single basket from Waterworks in Ypsi as well, that was last year I believe though. Just goes to show you, there is a bad seed in every crowd.
Some people. Why?
Teens suck anuway- Give'em hell when they're caught.
hey now,...."thirty days in the hole.."perhaps the old Indian trial of running the gauntlet would be appropriate when apprehended. They would respect a hard thrown disc.Parks dept had to uproot our practice basket to replace #17 that was stolen in Port Charlotte.
I had good luck wording a poster, phone calls or newspaper articles to say something like "ANYONE ELSE THAT WITNESSED THE THEFT" and then see what happens.I would also suggest making a few phone calls to the neighbors homes just ASKING if anyone in the home ALSO witnessed what the other witness saw (the fictitious witness). Don't accuse, just put a bug in their ear by telling as many as possible that "if those that were witnessed taking the baskets will return them, prosecution will be waived" If it were teens, the baskets may be tossed in a lake or stream somewhere. If the baskets were taken to be sold by crooks that steal to sell, they probably had a plan and scoped out the layout and crime beforehand and had a sale for them as soon as they were stolen. then baskets are probably forever lost. teens will always be teenagers. please try to remember that we were all teens once, so let's not blame by race, creed, color, religion or age.
Mean people suck!
I can think of at least 25+ stolen baskets around here now this past decade. Someone's got a mismatched new 24 hole course somewhere..
saw the flyers at kensington

hope this situation works itself out
