The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Not the new show on A&E, but the disc.

Why the change?

You guys (Innova) had created one of the best drivers of all time still to date, but decided to ruin it with a re-tool, why?

I've never really investigated the difference until now when I found that one of my Beasts is pre-change and one post-change. The Pre-change one is a great disc with a distinctly shallower and curved rim, whereas the post-change Beast is less-than-great and has a flat thicker rim.

Please bring back the old Beast, I can nearly guarantee they would fly off the shelves!

Maybe make both models? I'm sure a few people like the new one.
Yet the new Beast I find to be more than noticeably more understable than the old one.
Th Old Original DX Beast was more overstable than the others !!!!
i am no expert but my undestanding as to why they changed it was because it was to close to an orc in flight, although correct me if i am wrong but the beast came first ! and i agree as well the old mold is better, i carry both though, an old mold gummy champion beast and a new mold champion beast L, i find both usefull but i use my old mold beast more.

my question would be why dont they make both ? like they do the starfire and starfire L and the teebird and teebird L, seems to me they still make runs of both versions of those models, so why not the beast.
Yes both! Need to start a petition if that would actually work or get their attention- in a positive way.
If a disc is called a Beast it should be the same mold every time. it is ridiculous to me that innova does this all the time and doesn't change the name of the disc. they have done something similar to the eagle. dumb.
I used to throw the Beast. When Innova decided to retool the Beast, I decided to start throwing Discraft.
I have not thrown the Newest version of the Beast
Wow I haven't had any new beasts recently. How long ago did they change them? I have several old champ beasts that I rely on. It would be bad if I couldn't replace these some day!
fortunately for for me i have about three or more regular champ old molds in reserve, and two more backup gummy beasts, i only have one newer L model and its in the bag, sounds like those wont be to hard to find though, at least for now anyway LOL
If Dave D says the old beast flies like a new Orc ... why not give the Orc a try. It's a great disc.

I never threw the old Beast ... but I do like the Orc.
orc doesn't fly anything like it. I know I switched and used them as main disc for 2 yrs. beast was so perfect that even a disc 'like' it wouldn't be good enough. ohwell. maybe someday.
