The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
In the beginning I used to only worry about putting and how far I could throw the disc. After watching a tourtament hosted in Ocala, I started to ask some of the pros what I should concentrate on. I remember this skinny guy with a monster afro telling me "smooth is far. It doen't matter if you can throw 500+ft, but it does matter if you can throw 300ft accurately." Turns out the skinny kid was Nikko... Great advice.

When a bad shot leaves you in a bad lie, don't try to be heroic and "save par", or birdie or whatever. Imagine someone put a tee where your lie is, and think about the best way to play the hole from there.
This saved me from a lot of foolish shots, making bad situations worse, especially in tournaments.

Permalink Reply by Jeffery Nugent on May 16, 2012 at 8:07am best advice I've got , was to keep my wrist cocked all the way back from start to finish. That helped me keep the nose down and added up to better "D" off the tee. now if I could figure out what else I'm doing wrong....
