So today at hole #19 long @ Morley (410' slight uphill, tight fairway uphill and trees on both sides) I had played 16 holes of horrible golf with 3 friends in a doubles match I completely YANK a 150 r-Pro Boss into the trees on the right. Certain death. The throw was so bad it was turning over when it hit the side of the hill through at least ten to twenty Eucalyptus trees becoming an accidental cut roller. Against all odds it jaw droppingly came down the hill across the entire fairway at a 45 degree angle up toward the practice baskets while still turning right back into the fairway and stopped 12 feet from the basket. Immediately declared "The best worst shot I've ever seen" by all four of us. And it was CTP to boot.

What's the best worst shot you've ever seen?

Ok so the hole was one of those play for bogey holes. The hole plays on a narrow fairway, trees on the right, water on the left. I would say a bit over 300 feet from memory. The idea is to play safe onee the drive and maybe go for a par save from there. No good way to birdie this one.

So anyway this guy throws a safe drive, looks at his upshot and says I'm going for it. He shanked his sidearm way left and way to low over the water. Then his disc skips not once but twice on the water, lands 3 feet from the pole. That shot won the tournament for the guy. Had he gone OB he would have lost.

Many years ago I was playing in the Wisconsin Team Tournament in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin at the superb Sandy Point Resort.  This is a match play event where you play head to head against players from the other teams.  I was leading by one on the final hole and driving first I parked the basket.  My opponent shanked his drive badly to the right, deflected perfectly and, you guessed it, went in the basket for an ace.

It is one thing to lose a match when you are playing for yourself.  It is much worse to lose and let your team down.

I have a friend that is very very lucky.. He doesn't play that often maybe once a month and on several occations he has aced 150-160 ft holes with a destroyer or excaliber (He only plays with three discs).

Anyway one day he griplocked a drive off into the trees.. this wasn't just any trees his disc had to pass through 50 or more very dense trees.. Believe it or not his disc doesn't hit a single tree breaks out into the clearing by the basket and skips in for an ace..I was amazed but I think he was more suprised than me..

this is more like the worst best shot , sunday hole 7 at mack its a narrow 70+ foot dog leg right . my throw was flat , inthe middle of the fairway , and looked like it was my money shot , until half way there  this one branch hanging in the one spot to slap down my would be ace in the prime of its flite . chainsaw came to mind , but now i know its there . next week i will just have to throw either a little lower or a little wider , and watch other golfers smack that same branch .
