The Children of the Corn

Has anyone seen the news lately? All the killer kids? This stuff just gets crazier everyday. If moms are not killing their kids, kids are killing their parents(elders). Today, i read that a 17 year old (who is far from being a little kid) killed his mother because she took his Halo 3 video game from him. Then the other day, i read that a 3 year old shot his babysitter because he stepped on his shoe, then an 8 year old killed his dad while he slept. What is going on with our parenting? What are we lacking? What are we not seeing in our children? Are their signs and we ignore? Do we refuse to discipline and instruct?

It's all because parents can't beat their kids anymore without going to jail. My dad paddled me and I'm fine, I haven't killed anyone.

I agree with you dude. My mama whupped my ass and I got my Associates of Science degree by the age of 18, no unwanted pregnancies, no criminal history, my own house and a good stable job. Discipline along with instruction is a good thing. Letting little Timmy have his way only teaches him that the rules do not apply to him and he will never respect his parents because they didnt respect themselves. And please dont think i am blaming all parents for the things their kids grow up and do. But while they are small and in your house, you ought to have better control than that. You dont need a super nanny if you stop being an idiot and take the responsibilty to raise your children.

i dont think i could kill either of my parents, or any person for that matter. even as a youth i understood what they go through to raise us. i know it takes a commitment and i know they love me. umm... yeah get off the damn couch and be a parent, i think thats the issue. parents not taking time to teach their kids any values. and ya, my dad whooped me good back in the day and i never even thought of swinging back. i figured i deserved the ass whoopin.

It's not games faults from the story there seemed to lots of problems within the family and it sounds like the media just are quick to blame games as the always do .
hows some points
he's 17 how is old enough to purchase the game
and i play m rated games and i have never have wanted to kill someone the kid had a lot of problems and is clearly a nut
i also don't really watch the news because it makes me sick .
what kids need nowadays is better parenting and more supervision

Im so glad that disc golfers know that parenting is important and not blaming inanimate objects for your childrens behavior. You're right, i never once wanted to kill my mama cause she took something from me or whupped me. I learned that i didnt want to do wrong anymore.

We are seeing what GOD saw and knew when he created mankind.We have not and never will value human life, our own maybe, but not others. Weare sinners.Yes there are good people out there that value human life. but look around the world and see what's happening, we are destroyng ourselves. That's why GOD sent Jesus as a sacafice for our sins. I encourageyou to seek JESUS, for he is the only one that can save us from ourselves. ZMAN

Mike is right. My dad used to kick the living sh$% out of me. Of course I tested him and the limits, but I valued my life and everyone elses around me to do something so stupid. Over-population and lack of parenting are big issues. I hate to say it, but lets stop "breeding" for 5 years. Let the economy and our resources build up a little. This is to deep of a conversation to get into, I try not to deal with this stuff at all but thats all you hear about. Sucks. Beat your kids and teach them respect. Now of course I dont mean "beat" them, but you gots to whoop them when the deserve, no more "timeout" bull$%it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is a difference between discipline and abuse. my dad disciplined the living sh!t out of me, when i needed it. BUT I was never abused!!!

I agree Zman! God is the only one who will ever love us like we should be (not that we deserve it...we are such heathens...lol) But seriously, I do believe in God and Jesus and the trinity. He is the only one that gets me through these days
