They make the Drone in FLX, and the Buzzz in FLX, so why not the Wasp? I love this disc more than any other mid, but fear to use it too much in the woods for the tree jump in the way too much. I think an FLX Wasp would be money.

I sent Discraft this question, but nothing back lately from them.

yea they did make flx wasp protos. they are for sale on a few webistes or ebay.
I have a Z flx wasp proto, however I have not yet taken it out of it's bag i got it in.

Also if you fear the trees jumping in the way just use a Z wasp as they hold their form and line very long, you will lose it before you break it's line.
Discraft has more molds and plastic combinations than they have the production and storage capacity to actually produce. It's like, why no ESP Stratus? They made a few for the PDGA and you can find them on e-bay, but I cannot order 25 of them for resale.
Do not fear the woods, at least not for the sake of your plastic. Fearing the woods for your score is perfectly reasonable. Instead fear the ponds for both reasons. :)

A fresh Z Wasp will take many, many, many ,many tree smacks before it changes flight characteristics. As it slowly breaks in it remains valuable to you because you will know it well. In a year or two (or more) you may want to add a new Z Wasp to the bag and start the cycle again.

The longer you keep a midrange disc in the bag the more you will love it. Replacing a new disc is easy. Finding a replacement for a broken in disc is hard.
Perhaps, but in my own defense, I don't believe I'm malfunctioning any more than usual. Was there something weird about my fear-the-woods post that I am missing?

And lest this comment invite references to ED commercials, whatever problems I may be having cannot be cured by a little blue pill or matching antique bathtubs.
Huh!!...do you have matching antique bathtubs?
My guess is the Wasp is being phased out in favor of the Drone. Elite Z is the only plastic the Wasp is still being made in. I hate to say this too because the Wasp is my favorite mid.
I doubt that the wasp is going to be phased out considering it is the discraft answer to the innova roc
Why have they discontinued it in Pro D, Elite X, and ESP then? People that throw Rocs usually carry one midrange mold and throw them in various stages. That's what I've been doing with Pro D Wasps so why discontinue it if it's your answer to the Roc? People that throw the Buzzz carry more than one mold usually adding another for more overstable midrange shots. Discraft probably feels that the Drone fills this need better than the Wasp because it is more overstable. Like I said, this is just my guess though.
This is why I hate playing woody finesse courses sometimes..

Every once in a while there's that one disc that's buried so far in the brush there's absolutely no way to find it, and it invariably is one of your broken in go-to discs.
Look at the picture of the disc on this page. It is not posted on the Pro D and ESP pages but it has been stated that they are no longer running the Wasp mold in those types of plastic.

It's the best period! The second disc mold I fell in love with (1st was the Z Surge, 3rd was the CryZtal Z Challenger). I prefer Z Wasps... though I would try a FLX if I found a decent priced one. I even prefer the Wasp over a Buzzz...

I might not be able to sleep tonight.... I'll hold onto my Wasps and shun my wife... (heh heh heh that'd be funny)
