The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Time Warp: Have you guys seen this program on Discovery Channel? They video sports and other things at super slow motion. Tonight they showed a skater doing a 360 kick flip, and it looked amazing at that speed.

They are looking for new show ideas and invite you to visit their site to give them some ideas. There is a thread started about Disc Golf, and I was hoping some of you would visit their site and support the idea of them featuring this for one of their upcoming show ideas. So if you have a few minutes, please visit this link and let them know you like the idea - this would be good for the exposure of our sport

I think that'd be a cool idea too. Did you post it on time warp??

I also think that watching a disc hit a tree or pole in slo-mo and watching it taco would be a funny thing to see!

posted again. keep it going !!!
You guys that think it is a cool idea need to go post it also, that shows interest. One post about a disc hitting a tree or chains dosn't show interest. I have posted numerous replys on the Discovery site.

there was a thread about "precession" on dgrus, its the physical property of things that "spin" pretty much. i cant download the flashplayer at the discovery site other wise i wouldve posted it there.
Yeah I saw that Wade, I just am not sure how to make that a show idea. That was someones work and experimenting that made that article. I think to most of the viewers of that show that would be way too much information for them. It was a great read, but most of the topics on that show get about 8 min of air time. They usually have three different topics per episode. I think we will have a better chance of just having someone like Avery huk some plastic at baskets and trees and see how the disc distorts and how the throwers body mechanics work. These things are in line with what the show normally does. Perhaps the precession thing could be an Idea for Mythbusters...Hmmmm
