Dear Morons-

I'd like to extend a heartfelt "get bent" to the vandals and litter bugs that frequent this course. I'm all for having a few cold ones during a casual round of disc golf, provided you put your empties into one of the twenty or so trash receptacles provided. But hey, why do that when the ground you're standing on is so much closer, right? And please tell us all why you feel that it's okay for you to tear off the info plaques from the tee markers. Did the course owner come to you specifically and say "Hello! Please ruin things for everyone else!" I doubt it. And yes, I agree that Lake Wazeecha is a real pain. I've lost a disc or two in there, myself. That said, please justify your reasons for dragging the picnic tables out into the lake so you don't have to get wet. If the disc your after is important enough to warrant vandalism of public property (and that's what it is, morons), then certainly it's worth wading out into a little cold water to retrieve. You people are the worst kind of disc golfers. You are a big contributor to the myth that all disc golfers are stoners and slackers, while the truth is that most of us are upstanding individuals just trying to enjoy the game and, just maybe, make a new friend or two.

I guess this would have been more appropriate if it was posted as a blog, but I also know that more people will see this if it's posted as a discussion, and hopefully it'll be seen by the 'right' people. Bottom Line: If you can't respect the other players... If you can't respect the course...If you can't respect the people who work very hard to keep the course maintained... then stay the hell away! Turn in your discs to Play It Again Sports, go home, sit in your bean bag chair, spark up your joints and stay there, away from those of us who aren't retarded.

Wow! I know I've sure felt that way about fellow golfers too. As a dad, my biggest problem is that once people get out of sight in the woods at some of our local courses, they all immediately light up and puff what they got, throw their Cheeto's bags on the ground and start living the "High Life"(thanks fat beer salesman guy). Try explaining all that to your 11 year old as you walk into a cloud of smoke at the 5th tee from the guys who are "taking a break and letting you play through". Some of disc golf's roots are in that culture, but this generation doesn't connect with or protect the land like the previous generation of hippies. I don't know if we will ever be able to get that culture out of the sport, but if they keep trashing the place, sooner or later the parks will shut courses down that become too much work to maintain. The first course ever installed in TN, is despised by the park rangers, due to the bad element it draws and all the damage they do to the land."Hard on the land" is the opinion of the guys I spoke with. Save the vandalism for GTA, the real world has enough fools as it is.

No kidding! Oh and seriously wtf is with you people who throw your garbage next to the garbage can? Seriously is it too hard to walk the extra foot and put it in the grabage rather then the ground. I like to have fun as much as the next guy, but seriously it is not fun when the course is covered in litter because people can't put things in the garbage. Learn some respect, stop stealing baskets, ripping apart signs, driving your ATVs through a park where it clearly states NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES multiple times. Take your pot, crack, etc. somewhere else because my kids don't need to be around it and I don't want to be around it. Stop ruining things for the rest of us!

I'm hoping that one day I catch the little moron that has felt the need to tag the fence by the parking lot and several of the logs we use as stools. I'd like to catch the idiot that had to break the "no mow" sign and bend the brand new tee sign on hole 14 too.
It's vandalism, and if I catch them, I'll call the police and ask for presecution. It's beyond throwing empties next to the trash cans.
One more thing, You aren't as cool as you think you are.

No doubt! Hole 8 at our local course was actually folded over to the ground in early October and I have serious doubts that our parks department will replace it as they are not to hip on the general demographic of the local golphers. We can imedeatly tell when this group of people are at our course...we listen for ridiculously loud profanities and look for silo's wrapped in paper bags. Thats not to say that the occasional "shit" doesnt escape and on occasion I have gotten"thirsty". But I have enough respect for my fellow golphers and more importantly respect for the sport. We clean up and keep the volume at 3. What can we do about this kind of crap..other than lead by example? Its frustrating.

I completely understand there is a guy that takes his 4-wheeler all over our course. He does it when it is wet out making the fairways and wood chip tee pads very muddy. Also last Fall someone burned down our message board. Our sign posts people tear out constantly and need to be cemented in. But I think the people that are littering on the course are just at much at fault about not caring about the course as the people who tear it apart.

please don't generalize. I smoke and always put my butts in my stash tray. litterbugs make me hot under the collar too and they come in all shapes and sizes and non-smokers as well.

I'm sorry if you've taken what I said about stoners and slackers as a generalization. Please note that I did seperate them, because I don't feel that they are one in the same. Personally, I have no beef with marijuana, so long as you are considerate enough to keep it to yourself. However, these (stoners and slacker folk) seem to be the element most responsible for this upsetting behavior at this particular course, although I'm sure there are people of all varieties responsible to some degree. I should have made that apparent in my original post, but I did not. My bad. With that said, I still maintain that this type of behavior is unacceptable, regardless of what extracurricular activities you partake in. Vandalizing public property is stupid, and it makes no difference whether or not you were high when you did it.

Its sad that this seems to be happening at alot of courses. Especially ones that get played heavily. I dont understand why you would damage/vandalize the course if you enjoy the sport. It reflects so badly upon the sport. I have heard of proposed course installations getting canceled at the last minute after the powers that be visited another local course and saw the course condition, and the behavior of some of the casuals. I cant say I blame them though. Would you want to spend thousands of tax dollars just to bring drugs, drinking, vandalism, and other nefarious behaviors to your towns park. Its sad that I have to pick and choose what park to bring my son to because I dont want to expose him to the behaviors of some of these idiots. Its really sucks! Respect the course, and your fellow disc golfers, dog walkers, joggers, picnickers, etc... your screwing it up for the rest of us!

Sharpees are for writing on your discs morons!
Trash cans are there to put trash in stupid!
Benches/Tables are there to sit on not fetch your discs or display your latest Pot Leaf rendering!
Tee Signs are there for a reason dont tear them down because your having a bad round or you had a bad shot.
Baskets are very helpful in the game of disc golf. Dont bend, break, or steal them.
Be conscious of others around you. If I'm standing there with a kid waiting to throw do you really have to light up and swear every other word?
These course dont just magically appear for your enjoyment. People before you invested alot of time and money so you would have a place to play the sport that you love to disrespect.
Dont mean to ramble this particular subject really gets under my skin.
