Would you consider these the top courses in the country or are there better?

Beaver Ranch/Conifer Park
Whistler's Bend
Milo McIver State Park (Riverbend DGC)
Brackett's Bluff

Hard to say when I've only played one of those courses. I would think you would have to add De Laveaga in Santa Cruz, CA. Also, I'ts all in the eye of the beholder.
that is true those were the courses that i found on dgcoursereview.com that were considered the top, which course did you play out of those and what did you think of it?
Whistler Bend in Roseburg. It was one of the first I've ever played. I loved it, but I look back and didn't have a clue how to play a course of that magnitude. I think I would enjoy it more now. Same with Dexter and Seatac.
i would think that renny gold and winthrop gold would have to be on there. Brackett's Bluff def deserves a spot though. sick, sick course!
waterworks park in kansas city MS. DeLaveaga, Sata Cruz. Sea-Tac in lakewood WA. Whistlers Bend in OR.
Flip City is amazing.
I would add Foundation Park in Centralia, IL and Valley View DGC in Brookston, IN to that list. Sioux Passage in St Louis, MO is pretty awesome too.
That's mostly what Dela has going for it is the "eye of the beholder." Awesome scenery and good technical challenge on individual holes. But you can't rate a course better than average if it violates rule 101 of course design - not to cross fairways. If you allow a designer to cross two sets of fairways on any other course, it could also be improved.
Remember that those courses listed have a minimum number of reviews on www.dgcoursereview.com. If you want to see some other courses that could be in the top once enough people have reviewed them, do an Advanced Search for courses rated 4.5 and higher that have at least 5 reviews. The list will come out alphabetical, Then click on the Rating column twice. First click will sort in ascending order by rating, second click in descending order. You will see another course above Flip City on this list and a few other ones in the top 20.
hmm didnt know that i will have to check it out.
