The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

If anyone knows where to find archives of official pdga tournaments from the late '80's I would like to be able to see them. As far as my research goes is a dead end. Apparantly the pdga just threw away all that old paperwork. Does anyone know for sure. Are they truly the forgotton years. I remember playing a lot of tournaments but I can't find any detailed records anywhere on the web.

It hard to even find stuff from the 90's.

Back in the day, before the internet...

Contact Rick in Kansas, he may be able to get some back issues of some of the old mags.

They don't exist...because it never happened. Maybe that's what they want you to believe.  It's a freaking conspiracy!!!  Bahahahhahahaha!!!
Tried that.  Didn't get an answer. I don't think he likes me.
I thought Chuck might answer for the pdga and tell me where they keep the history. The results from those tournaments were sent to the pdga, did they lose them?
Grow up, fool!
They have them in the old mags at the IDGC as do many other old timers who kept them. At some point, interns will be gradually entering tournament records online working back from around 2002 where they are now. I'm sure you can look at them when visiting the IDGC. Contact them to find out if you can get any info by email.
I just gave spinners on the green disc golf store a box of old  pdga tournament results from tourneys in the 1980's in AZ.Also many old disc golf mags that listed all the pdga tourney results from the same time period, probably from 84 to 1992.That stuff is still out there just in peoples attics and storage...except mine now. If your looking for something specific Maybe Dano,Sue or Keith at spinners could browse thru that box (might take awhile) and come up with it for you. www.spinnersdiscgolf.com or they have a facebook page.
Thanks Chuck I was wondering if that would ever happen.

As Chuck said, tournament results were printed in the Disc Golf World News  (DGWN).  The PDGA has every issue of the DGWN at the IDGC library.  If you know the name and date of a specific event, you can email a request for a copy of the tournament results from DGWN.   The PDGA staff always been very helpful when requesting articles and results from past issues.

I had most of those DGWN mags, but they came up missing when I moved about 10 yrs ago. I only have 4 of them left.
