The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Hey all, looking for some help and wanted to share an fyi about the Woodshed and Whipping Post in Paw Paw, WV.

First of all, I have heard great things about both courses on a number of sites. Having moved (ONLY because of a necessary work change) to a town with no disc golf courses from one that had three free to play on, I am daily seeking new places to play that don't cost loads in gas, entry fees, etc. Well, it turns out that Paw Paw is just outside of the county I live in...colour me excited.

So, I drove there this afternoon...had my cooler full of bevys, bag full of discs, bug spray, etc...ready to play...

The first thing you need to know is that once you get to Paw Paw, if Maryland is at your back, go on Rte. 9 for about two miles, hard left onto Magnolia, right onto Gaither, and the property will be on your right...but, Magnolia is paved, but VERY narrow...and Gaither is unpaved, very narrow...and, just as curvy as Magnolia...I drive a Mazda 3...was tough on my little car...recommend you ride with your friends who own trucks.

Well, anyway, I found the courses and parked by the barn...but, no one came out to greet me, it appeared the grass had not been cut in awhile. I went into the barn to see if I could find where to pay and if there were any maps...found the pay can...found no maps.

I could see baskets out before me on their gorgeous property, but had no idea where to start, which course I was on, etc. So, no Paw Paw for me today.

So, does anyone know the owners? Are they on vacation? Is there a best time/day/etc. to go play there?

Any insight anyone can provide is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

That first page also lists a few other nearby courses.
