ooh im the first response. welp. 2 of my good friends always threw with one finger, an i always threw with 2. I had more distance than them and they always claimed it was just cuz im better. I encouraged them to throw 2 fingered and it felt really weird for them, but once they got used to it they could throw as far if not further than me. accuracy is also increased. with one finger u use more whip, with 2 fingers u use whip, but also increased power. so id say give it a shot, give it a real shot, use it when u play, and throw in a field. should help u.
This is for forehand drives. The two finger gives me more power and control than one finger. I've noticed that people with smaller hands, especially youngsters use three fingers. I tried it, and just can't get the snap that I get with two fingers. For the two finger, I put the middle finger on the inside of the rim, and stack my index finger on top of the middle finger.
I play with a couple of guys that throw FH with one finger and don't get how they do it. They're both pretty accurate and seem like they get a good snap, but I use two fingers myself. I've used two fingers fanned out for more of a finesse upshot or FH putt if I'm forced. For drives I've used two fingers stacked on each other and my index finger curled behind my middle finger. I feel like I get more distance with my index curled as it allows me to get more spin, but you can risk turning your disc over if you're used to throwing with two fingers stacked in rim (index on middle). My friends swear they can't throw with any variation of two fingers. Try them all in a wide open feel and give all the grips a fair chance and see what works for you.
Since I have began playing I have thrown RHFH with two fingers. When I first started playing I used to place my two fingers with the side of my middle finger against the edge of the disc with both pads flat against the top of the disc. Once I got the control down, sometime last year I moved to a power grip with the pad of my middle finger against the inside brim of the disc, and pad of my pointer finger against the bottom of the disc. This grip gives me a ton more snap, but still gives tons of contol. You might whant to try either one of these grips see how the work out for you.
