Me and my boyfriend ordered some dye via internet to dye our discs. Its suppose to be special for discs but it's kind of expensive and I don't know how well i like the results. What kind of dye do you use, or what kind of dye would you suggest using?

Rit dye. The clothing type. People use contact paper or sign vinal for cooler designs.
I messed around with dye's for a bit, but found it too messy. However, when I did do it. I liked the rit dye in powder form, but I liked it because it didn't make the color uniformed. It made more of a tye dye look to the disc, when you would dab the crystals in certain areas of the disc. I also tried Color Rite. It's used for fishing lures and you can brush it on your disc. You can find it at any sporting goods store, but there are not that many colors to choose from.
Get some Rit Dye. I have gotten other dyes that don't take to the disc. It is very frustrating. Rit is the way to go. Nice and simple. They sell it at most craft stores and some grocery stores. go look up disc dying 101 on youtube and check out how they do it. It's also how I do mine. There are also tutorials on how to do the "spin Dyes" somewhere as well.
Git er done with Rit.............RIT er done.
on my page there is over 300 hundred dyes all done with powdered rit and water. I do the "soaking" method. Rit is pretty cheap and easy. oh, I also use cheap walmart contact paper and hand cut all my designs, no plotter! So I believe I do the cheapest dyes and you can see the results I get on my page!
300 hundred...that's alot!
here's a dye i did on saturday with $1.60 box of Rit mixed in approx. 125 degree water

Nice look! Assuming that's an Ion.
yessir

174 medium ion - was light gray originally

This pic is closest any camera has come to capturing actual color- it is electric kool-aid purple
I use powdered Rit Dye. Nice and cheap. I buy it at Walmart. Decent color assortment, easy to use. Mix it with water or acetone, as these give you different effects. Give it some tries and experiment!
Well Rit sounds like its the way to go. Thanks guys!
Are there certain types of plastic that are harder to dye than others? I was trying to dye my Putter #1 and I spent like an hour on this buddha stencil and the dye didn't stick.
