More and more companies are adopting this way it seems. I like how Vibram does their flight rating system as well. I'd like to see an incorporation of Innova and Vibram for the ultimate flight rating system for the entire disc golf industry. Part of what will put Disc Golf on the big stage is having a standard and there are more strides being made in this direction every year.
Further on their speed 14...I think it is a marketing ploy as a lot of newcomers are obsessed with the speed rating of discs. Westside is just capitalizing on the speed craze to sell more discs, which is just fine....it is a business. I've seen posts from experienced folks that suggest the King is not a 14 speed driver in comparison to Innova's flight rating system. Take it for what it is worth and try it and see if it works for you or not.
Regardless of suggested speed, if you don't have the necessary skill and form to push a disc the way it was designed....it won't fly like it should and you'll get different results from those that can throw correctly.
