What do you do?

Recently I had over heard a colleague of mine talking about disc golf and all he had to say was "disc golf I thought that only hippies and homeless people played that sport", needless to say I was POed. I know that there may be some people that fit into this cross section of society and if you are one of them I'm not judging you and I mean you no disrespect, but I do not and I have heard these remarks said for far to long. I know that there are other people out there that own business and work in successful jobs that also take offense to this type of stereotype please help me show my coworker that their are successful people affiliated with this sport!

I am retired. But beofre that happened...I was a 32 year factory worker for a breakfast cereal company. But actually decided to make my retirement sport... disc golf. So...I have only been playing disc golf for alittle over one year. But also in that year..I was one of the major volunteers in putting together a disc golf course for Worlds '08. As far as playing...I have still alot to learn. I am having fun in the process. I hope I answered the question correctly.

Maybe the best thing I like about disc golf is the diversity of people who play, so I would not enjoy it nearly as much if only rich people played. But if your friend wants to know, I have a masters degree and a law degree and Sheila also has a masters degree. In 2008 we were in the 2 percent (upper income) of households and would NOT quality for an Obama tax cut - still like his tax plan. (Won't be that rich in 2009, though!)
