The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I recently gave in and finally got a bag and few discs to work in. Curious as to what you all think, advise, or suggest. Btw I'm LHBH primarily but can do RHBH and RHFH

Pro Katana - soon to be Star or Champ, only used for open holes with distance
Champ Boss - for open holes with wind, when I see necessary

Champ Wraith - hyzers, anhyzers, what I call "trick shots", and for low throw distance
Star and Champ Teerex - forhand drives, forhand approach, threading trees, low shots

Champ Orc- Shorter holes/"trick shots", low throws
Champ Monster - forehand, doglegs, girlfriends disc (when she plays)

Star TL - fairway drives, short holes, straight shots
Champ Banshee - fairway, doglegs

KC Roc - Overstable midrange, not worrying about hitting a tree
DX Roc - stable midrange, parking under the basket

Star Mako - Stable approach, floppy putts (this thing is soft, floppy, gummy, and I've yet to make it roll or skip)
DX Aviar - Most putts

I've considered dropping the Katana, Boss, Orc, Monster, TL, Banshee, and Mako in various combinations (meaning I would only get rid of a few not all of them) because I feel like I use to many of them for the same stuff and feel that some of them are redundant.

Equipment: I have a fadelite bag (12 disc) and am going to get dividers for it. A disc marker, a sharpie, an old baseball (great for getting discs out of trees), and a $6 shammy I tore up to wipe discs off. Whatcha think?

Does it work for you? Cuz if it does, then i say its a good set-up!
Sounds good. What I like to do. Is have at least 3 discs of each group (drivers, fairway drivers, and midrange). Each sub group I like to have a Overstable, stable, and an understable disc. For instance, my mids (well some of them) I have a Drone and Gator (OS), Roc and Buzzz(Stable), Hawk and a Classic Roc (understable). This is what works for me. Is it overkill? most likely, but that's what im happy with. One thing that I think is a must, is having two diff. putter. One stable like your Aviar and one on the overstable side. Like a BB Aviar, but that's also because I play in a windy area and my stable putter. Can get flippy with a headwind.
That is also what the mako is for, works as an overstable putter. As a mid range in gets blown around though.
is your girl a power thrower... if not let her use something less overstable than a monster.. like from your list maybe tl or mako
I don't know why but she bombs the monster, she throws forehand and I just taught her to convert her softball throw (played for years) into a forehand throw and everything else flips on her. Only disc that will turn over for her. It ends with a Low speed fade of 2 instead of 5, she puts a lot of my guy friends to shame and I'm really glad I learned to play before I taught her or else I would have been totally emasculated.
Not to be mean, but it's your bag and not mine. You have to use what works for you. I'm not sure that anyone on this site would like what I have in my bag, but that doesn't concern me. My discs work for me. Don't over analyze.

Don't ever get rid of the Banshee. It is one of my most versatile discs.
ok sidearm makes more since thats cool that she bombs it! do you throw sidearm b/c it looks like you could use an undstable disc like a roadrunner
I'm not much of a side armer anymore (hurt my shoulder forehanding with an XCal, bad technique) but its been really good for my game to switch to backhand. Also I know what works for everyone works for them but because I'm considering dropping some stuff I wanted the input. Thus no one is being mean and the "what works for you works for you" comments prove to be counterproductive because I'm considering the fact that they don't work for me.
Wheres the discraft?!!!!!
yea, no predator???!!! no Buzzz???!!! must haves, always and forever................................................
he said he has 2 rocs in his bag and how do you know he is a beginner just because he was wondering about his bag.... he might be better than you
Sorry Harold didn't mean to be rude I was just saying we don't know how good he is and a valkarie and a sidewinder may not be the only disc he needs I do agree he needs something understable in his bag
