I saw a gentleman refer to tournament etiquette by saying "and no FLICKING"

what exactly does this mean?

Flicking as I know it is just sidearm. This does not fit with the reference to tournament etiquette. Where are you from? It may have some other meaning in your neck of the woods.
It wasn't from a guy from my area. I suspect it has something to do with standing at the tee pad while somebody else is throwing and flipping your disc up in the air and catching it over and over again and generally being a distraction...

Hard to say. Some people try to use all kinds of terms that make sense to them and no one else, so next time don't be afraid to ask them what they are talking about. I have never heard of that term as far as tournament etiqutte goes, only in the sidearm throw as Trevor has mentioned.
A tournament where they tell you how you can and cannot throw? i'd get my money back and leave.
It wasn't a reference to how or what you could throw. it was entirely regarding etiquette. Must be local slang...

I understand where the guy is getting the "no flicking" thing from... but he needs to use a different term for it... Trevor has the term right, it's a term for a side-arm or forehand throw... never heard it used other than refering to that... There are terms that are semi-local and you should ask if you don't know... for example... when you talk while someone's disc is in the air and it his a tree... I've heard 3 different names for that pending on where I'm at... you know...
no flicking your cigarette butts would be my guess.

Flicking boogers is a violation!! No way. I thought the Republicans were out of office. I could be wrong but I thought the flicking of boogers was allowed except you cannot flick the booger on someone during their putting stroke. Maybe I missed the most recent rule revisions. Somebody here knows. Let's call on Swamptoy. For sure he knows.
Did he say it or write it? If he wrote it, he could have been referring to not having carnal relations while playing in the tournament, but he could have used a less vulgar word.
i think he was refering to cig butts.
Sounds like we are all noobs I guess. Maybe a little more clairification on what you were doing that may have brought this term up. It all sounds a little vague. Were you smoking and flicking your cig butts on the course? Were you standing on the pad flipping your disc all over when he was throwing?
maybe he ment no FLIPPING? as in flipping your disc instad of using a mini? in tournys people get all bent out of shape about that.
