What is the most difficult hole you ever played ?

 

Please name the state, course, hole number and a good description of required shots.

 

I'll give an example.

Tuscawilla Park, Daytona Beach Florida

Hole number 14.

From the "A" pad, it is roughly 421 feet to the basket.

From the pad you'll have to throw straight and dog leg it right towards the basket.

The basket is on a "Small" Island.

They call it a Par three.

I have never made anything less then 4 for that hole. I average a 5 or 6.

Sorry Vic to keep correcting you...but the A pad to the Island placement is 516. With a drop zone rule that requires one to land dry on the island before proceeding from the island...unless, of course you sink the putt from across the water.  Anything in the ob water, goes to the drop zone with a stroke.

Hole 12 whispering pines Innverness Fl 420 trees 25ft in front of t pad gotta throw rh around them then goes staight fo150 before cutting back right with pin in a hole a little left at end,mega trees and thick ruff abound 4 is a very good score here.

The Beast at Brandywine...5 is a good score....a 4 would...well, I would be ecstatic. 

 

Hole 16 at Hyzer Creek...another hole I remember as 5 being a good score...a 4 would be really good.

If it still the same hole that I played around 1997-1999, it is a legitimate par 4.  Either you get it in position to hit the gap and make the 4 or you don't and card a 5 or 6.  It is/was a round buster hole...1st to 3rd in a flash.

This is a tough question and I think that the answer lies in a hole that is both challenging and has the correct rating for par. An example is our "super deep" position on hole 16 at Cottonwood Creek. It isn't the most beautiful hole, just a difficult hole because you have to find your way through the trees uphill to a position that can't be seen from the tee. I believe that the correct par for that position would be four as generally only the big arms can card a three with any regularity. So if it were a par four then I would still find it challenging but maybe a bit more manageable. I refer to the hole as "The Equalizer" because it can easily get you a 5 if you aren't careful.

 

I really haven't played enough courses to find that "most difficult" hole. I'm sure that there are a lot out there. I love hole 18 at Sipapu because it is an 800 ft. downhill shot. Awesome to look down at that tiny pin. Almost birdied it once. There can be so many reasons for a "most difficult" hole in disc golf. You can have length, island holes, tunnel shots, blind shots, water, etc.

Mobile, AL Cottage Hill Park

Hole 14 (I think), the hole starts off with a tight wooded hyzer line about 250 feet or so. Then hooks a 90 degree hook to the right, at this point your fairway is about 15-20 feet wide. Leaving you with about a 150 foot up to the basket. The basket is on a raised area of dirt with a nice drop off behind the basket.

The key to this hole is the drive, if you go long it's a really hard 4 with the way the woods wrap around. You land short then it's a 4 or one hell of a par. Best I've done was a 4, and was really happy with that.

Lafayette, LA Pa Davis Park

Hole 10, around 800 feet. The first 400 is down hill wide open, then the hard part. The last 400 to the basket is uphill with many large pines in the fairway. Once you het to the green, there is O.B. (sidewalk) about 10-15 behind the basket on 2 sides. Also there is a large Pine about 10 from the basket making your placement that much more fun.

Hole #9 at Sleepy Hollow in Laingsburg, MI is a really chyallenging hole that ends on a 15' wide isthmus.   The hole starts flat and ends downhill.I've had to shoot 100' + over water to park it on a little sliver of land.

par 5, (a 5 is my best)

hole goes right the whole 1000', while the hill slopes left to right THE WHOLE WAY. Add to that a 15' ceiling 85% of the way making it impossible to get a drive out past 300, ever. The kicker a OB steam 20' in front of the pin surrounded by trees guarding the green and OB road 10' behind the pin.
