what is your favorite disc to use for wide open mid-range approach shots?

i am taking recomendations for a new mid range.  right now using a star mako and champion wraith for anywhere from 30 to 100 feet

CFR Gator. Elite Z Drone is also good.

Star San Marino Roc. It hold a line well, it's durable, and it has a nice skip and curl around the basket when I need it.

30-100? use a putter. if you want a midrange/approach disc, try a classic roc. different than the regular, it has a smaller diameter and is more like a putter. if you want an actual midrange disc, there's a lot to choose from. it should be about what feels good, but the straightest flying midranges from a few of the big companies are innova's roc (i'd suggest a glow roc), discraft's buzzz, and latitude 64's core. if you want something that goes left everytime, you could go with a wasp, drone, lat 64's pain, innova gator.

 

i use a latitude 64 gold line fuse and an innova star spider. i like to hyzer flip pretty much every shot so i chuck the spider when i want it to finish left or straight, and the fuse is for big hyzer flip straight shots and turnovers.

In that range, I almost always use one of my Aviars. BUT, I do use my Star Mako A LOT for approach situations and LOVE IT. What do you not like about the Mako? Just Curious. :)

The Mako is awesome, I just can't use it because I'm so used to relying on fade or turnovers.  The Mako is truly a spectacle to behold in the hands of someone skilled with it.

i worded that funny  because i actually love the mako i have, its slighty heavy at 177  but awesome to put with as star plastic, i use it just about all the time from 50 to 60 feet in.

For dead straight shots and no wind. It's a Champ Classic Roc for me. If it's windy, I use my Champ Gator or my Champ Roc. The Roc is kinda pushing it for such a short range.

from 30' to 100' I use a soft magnet.

Same here with using a putter from that range, it won't go skipping/sliding past the basket.

Now when I do use a mid for longer up shots. "Ace Race" Hornet or Buzzz.

Mako is great disc for that too, I always thought of it as a fast putter because it just drops out the air.

Any Flat-top mold Roc, throw a slight turnover - money.  Just wish my driving was up to par with my mid-range game.
