i just like the feel of star plastic it feels good !
i like star for drivers and mid-ranges and i have a star aviar putt & approach as well, but the star material gets a bit smooth after hitting chains a lot until it goes back to being grippy after plenty of use. for this reason i purchased a glow aviar and the grip is second to none. it isn't as durable but those things are so cheap you could buy a bunch of them and not have to worry about it. plus, the glow discs are so simple and clean-cut that who wouldn't want to pick one of those out of the basket after a nice putt :)))
I pretty much only throw DX, or the equivalent. I read an analysis on the different plastic types, and found that the DX is more understable, and has better glide. I'd realized that it's true -- all the discs I had trouble throwing were not DX! My throw is extremely underpowered, and I need all the help I can get. So, at least for the time being, I'm sticking with DX.
