White River in Auburn, WA is my closest home course. Been out the past 2 days tromping around and realized one of the shortest holes on the course is Scary, especially when the River is high....
It's only 285ft. from the Blue and about 235ft. from the red tees. For a RHBH thrower, it's a short, hard anhyzer line into the trees that go down the embankment to the White River.
The angle of the embankment is MUCH steeper than my cell phone cam makes it look. MANY people end up skipping, or rolling, down into the river and loosing a disc... Thought I did yesterday, but got Lucky....
What's your Scary hole????

Permalink Reply by Rescue on March 1, 2012 at 5:02pm Hmmmm can't remember the exact hole, but hole 12 through 18 at Seatac are just killers. I knew I was in for it when the guy I was playing with (Masters WA champ in 2010). Was all giddy because he shot his best ever of +9 the last time he played it. But if I'm correct 12 starts of with a dog leg left and bushes running through the fairway. Then it makes a slight dog leg right (kind of like it's own helix) with a few hundred ft to the basket and then it just gets better after that. God I LOVE that coure!!!
P.S. Hey Jeff! I'll be up there the third week in May. Lets get together and PLAY!

Permalink Reply by Rescue on March 1, 2012 at 9:08pm Cool! Were leaving the 23rd and coming back the 30th, but making it a two day trip up and back. Just can't do those crazy 16hr drives anymore!
Going to visit my better halfs son and family, but there will be some disc'in for sure! I always have to play Seatac, but there are sooooo many courses to choose from and just never enough time. Will get in touch as it gets closer to trip time. If you have any must play courses you want to check out, let me know. If we can get some courses that are close to each other as well as some shopping (for the ladies) close by. That would be perfect!
This hole is scary for me due to my average drive being right around 300' forehand, and 290 backhand. Hole length is 280'.

Also hoe 2 at Water Works park in Ypsilanti, Mi is kind of scary. I don't have a pic of it right now but Its like 180' from the shorts to 200' from the longs. the hole has a quick flowing river that runs the left side of the fairway and wraps around behind the pin. Makes you wonder about running the basket or not.

Permalink Reply by David Sauls on March 2, 2012 at 7:55am Stoney Hill, Diamond layout, hole 16. Tee shot must clear 250' of water and land on an "island" landing area, with water to left and O.B. road & beyond to right. From landing area, throw back over pond (moving up the pond) to basket; depending on the placement of your drive, you may be covering 220-350' of water. Or chickening out and trying to throw further up the shore to land on a narrow strip of land, to shorten the second throw across water.
