I am looking for a new driving putter. I currently use a challenger but have not been happy with the results as of late. I am looking for something I can rip on and know it will fly straight, but something that also won't hyzer out when throw flat and slower? Is there anything out there for me?
I've been having fairly good luck with an Rpro Hydra, for more stability I'll use the Discraft Zone.
My son, who has a cannon for an arm, swears by the Wizards of all varieties. He tried my Mercys this week and said he will be switching.
How is the Mercy? I currently putt with the Pure and love it. I would throw it more often off the tee but I don't want to bang up the zero plastic. I threw it a few times today off the tee and it worked pretty well. I am thinking of trying it in a more durable plastic. Is the Wizard similar to the challenger?
Try an Opto Pure if you're using them off the tee; they're more overstable than the Zero or EZE plastic versions and super durable too, the perfect combination for a driving putter!
They come in some cool sparkle versions: http://stores.ebay.com/Hazardiscs-Disc-Golf/_i.html?_nkw=opto+pure&...
I use aviars! Love them!!!! Champ for stable!!! And the dx's for a little any's!!!
Believe it or not I found my old DX plastic "Birdie" to be a heck of a driving putter. The speed is so slow, yet it glides forever. It has some serious hang time, it almost looks like slow motion lol. I also like the Aviar and the Dart. I recently bought a Xion and it has driving capabilities also. I'm sure there are many putters out there that "drive" well, but I suspect that the stiffer the plastic, the better for driving.
beadless aviars, psycho
Aviars. There are different kinds too. Big Bead Star for Overstable shots , JK Pro for Medium Shots , KC Pro for Line Drives , Regular Beat DX for slight turnover shots.
Exactly. Couldn't agree more.
I love the pro rhyno and pro pig, but I just switched to a medium 175 vibram ridge. I get a cleaner release and it has less glide. Extremely predictable. See what you think.
Try a soft Focus. I don't think I've ever turned one over even when I put a lil sauce on the shot. I like to think of it as a slower Buzzz.
