My 8 year old Boxer, the Redman Caesar. He never needs a leash, doesn't wander (except to chase squirrels) and lays down during most of my throws. He knows where the baskets are on each of the courses I play. Wouldn't leave home without him.
Don't own a dog as of yet. I do play quite a few rounds with jharrski's dogs though. The lab does her own thing except when she stands at the end of the tee waiting for you to throw. Fergus likes beer. One sip and he is your friend for the rest of the day. Just don't leave your beer unattended. They don't care about discs or any other dogs.
Coda is our 4yr old black lab. She's not the brightest bulb in the box but is faithful, likes to explore but never gets too far away. She doesn't care about discs at all but loves going out to the course and swimming in the ponds (although she doesn't retrieve discs). She now likes to take everybody's glove when they go to throw and thinks it's hilarious but she just having fun and doesn't ruin the gloves.
She also makes a cameo appearance in this video on my page
