The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Last night I saw a new discussion about whether big companies like Reebok, Nike, etc were ever going to get into disc golf. I was too tired to reply at that time, so I went to bed thinking I would get up today and add my comments to the discussion. But, this morning the discussion is gone. This has happened a couple of times before. Does anyone know what happens? Is there a glitch or does the admin remove them or what?

The front page only shows the ten most recent, ongoing discussions. If they're not that active, they should spill over into the general forum page and are usually found there. There are occasions when the administrator will delete a discussion--whatever their reason. I generally disagree with this type of censorship, but I respect Terry and his crew for what they're doing with the site. I have been involved in a few engaging discussion threads that simply disappeared one day and could never be found again--sometimes after an unnamed users said 'this thread should be deleted'. I guess I should have responded with 'this thread should be left alone' :). Shame on censorship!!
Actually there is such a thing as free speech, and in this case it is the choice of the administrator to decide how open (or not) a community is. I already stated how much I respect Terry et al. for what their doing. I guess if you (or they) really think it's 'their' site, then its surely logical to censor. But if you see it as a community, which I imagine most of us do, then community members should have the freedom to speak. (Especially if it doesn't threaten 'national security'. :)

I'm not about to make this into a debate over censorship. And it's definitely not my intention to try and cause any waves here. Heck, I didn't even bring it up. But since we're talking about deleting posts, I feel it is my responsibility as a community member to raise questions about the need for possible, apparent censorship.

That's how I see it as a community member and as a sociologist. With respect, and hopes of cutting the air a bit...It seems apt to honor Abbie Hoffman by titling this "DELETE THIS POST."
Actually some that look really good are pulled somewhere between my RSS feed and my clicking on them.
Discussions get removed by aliens who look like your friends but are trying to take over the world through disc golf. I know that one of my friends is really an alien because no human is that good.
christ, wipe your tears boys,so i deleted my own post, anybody can delete their own post.i think some of you need a different hobby, stop complaining all the time
anger management will help you with these issues you seem to be having lately..................
