The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
On May 12th, women disc golfers around the world will compete in a 2 round Global Event. If you are a woman, this is a great time to play your first tournament. If you are a man, encourage your wives and daughters to get out an try an all ladies event.
If you've never been to an all ladies event, they are AWESOME. These ladies and girls know how to have fun. Get out and support them, encourage them, carry a bag, or just watch. I gaurantee as a man, watching and or helping out with an all ladies event will change your mindset on how you approach the game. Simply a blast!
You can link out to signups throught this website. This site is also a great jumping off point for all things Womens DIsc Golf. Val Jenkins has taken great strides to organize it really well.

Fort Walton should have a strong number of ladies playing.
Permalink Reply by Dookville on May 1, 2012 at 10:53am The WGE is approaching, and may have just passed 500 women and girls participating in the event. Its not to late for signups, and for us guys to volunteer to help at an event in your area. Or at least get out and watch an event an cheer the ladies on.
Permalink Reply by Dookville on May 14, 2012 at 10:14am The Womens Global Event hosted nearly 700 ladies at 41 locations around the world this past saturday. They each played 2 rounds of disc golf on their home course. Their scores where tabulated aginst the course rating that they each played on to generate a rating average the two rounds. Paige Pierce was the overall open division winner out of Texas.
My Daughters Julia and Alexa finished #2 and #4 in the world in the Junior 4 and 3 divisions playing out of La Mirada California. It was an awesome day.
Permalink Reply by Discette on May 14, 2012 at 12:42pm Congratulations to Julia and Alexa. It was great to see you all at the Lady La Mirada WGE. Thanks for supporting your daughters so wonderfully.
FYI, Dookie is really great with the girls on the course. Not pushy yet there to provide support. WTG!
Permalink Reply by Dookville on May 14, 2012 at 10:34pm Thanks Champ, the girls had a great time. They love their discs, and will have a bunch more really cool disc golf memories to keep.
Congrats on the win. See you out there.

Permalink Reply by Rob Liebman on May 14, 2012 at 7:43pm My daughter played the event in Colorado Springs, the Clash at the Creek. It was her 4th or 5th tourney and she had a great time! Still in perma grin.
For an amazing all womens event, check out the Rocky Mountain Womens Disc Golf Championship the end of June In Denver. It just filled with 90 women including Liz Lopez and Cat Allen. Each woman gets a guy to be her caddy for the day. This is the second annual, last year's event was a huge success. It was awesome seeing that many women playing in one place and they loved having the guys caddy for them. I think I had as much fun caddying last year as I did playing in most of my events. Put it on the calendar for next year for sure!
Permalink Reply by Dookville on May 14, 2012 at 10:42pm Awesome Rob. My sides still hurt from laughing the last 9 holes. We wanted to come to Denver this year, but plans for travel are on hold for a bit.
There are a few other dads from Arizona and some other states trying to put together an FB page to get junior disg golf info out there for all of us. If and when they get it going, I'll post the link on here.
