The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

A few years ago I lost one of my favorite discs. Since then I have revived 4 phone calls on the disc and never returned. The farthest its gotten is Utah (me being from Michigan). This has given me the idea of setting up a club on here where people can post where they find a disc that I have marked with instructions. I am just curious of how fast a disc can travel.
For example:
Found on August 2 2011 at the ponds at lakeshore ypsilanti, mi
Next person:
Found on August 3 2011 at rolling hills ypsilanti, mi
Next person:
Found on August 10 2011 at flip city shelby, mi
And so on.

Would anyone participate in something like this?

Well lets do this then. How about a Kc Pro Roc in 175g?
Yeah, like you'd give that up if you found it ;o))

This sounds Really Cool. Would Love to see how it turns out. Or, where, or IF, it turns up.... As some of the others have said, I have only received 2 calls on discs I have lost out of probably 6. I returned one today to a guy still playing on the course. It fell out of his bag and he didn't know it. When I called him, I thought he was gonna cry. Was is ONLY Ace Disc.

I will be starting a disc out tomorrow. Dookville if you would like to send one out too that would be sweet. I'll email you a little later with instructions on what to put on the disc to get this going.

The club is started

Now to get a couple discs out there to travel the world.  If you are interested in sending a disc out please contact me and I will supply you with information on instructions that should go on the disc for finders.

This is a great idea, Please count me in.

Me three! I have plenty of plastic I'll never throw.

This sounds great!

I would if I found one. I play with nice and rare plastic, so mine almost never get returned.

In 1976 I took a 113 g Wham-o fastback, attached a small map of Yosemite valley to the underside with a small note requesting the finder to mark an x where they found it and keep the disc and mail me the map. I ripped it off the top of Half Dome. The last I saw it, it was still gliding and turning over. I never got a response. Prolly still down there somewhere.

So is the plan to tag a disc and just chuck it into the wind and see where it turns up?
accentualy yes.  I am going to tag an unthrown Cryztal Stalker here in a little bit.  Im playing glow tonight so it is going to get its first throw into the course.  I also plan  on taking a picture of it to start the discussion on the Club page that I have set up.  I think I will also put the name of the course that its located at on the page as well in case anyone is up for just hunting these down to get them moving.
Alright. I have a brand new, unthrown 2009 Ace Race Focus that I wrote the directions on the back of. Will post up in the group as soon as I get out to the course to get it "lost".
