The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

A few years ago I lost one of my favorite discs. Since then I have revived 4 phone calls on the disc and never returned. The farthest its gotten is Utah (me being from Michigan). This has given me the idea of setting up a club on here where people can post where they find a disc that I have marked with instructions. I am just curious of how fast a disc can travel.
For example:
Found on August 2 2011 at the ponds at lakeshore ypsilanti, mi
Next person:
Found on August 3 2011 at rolling hills ypsilanti, mi
Next person:
Found on August 10 2011 at flip city shelby, mi
And so on.

Would anyone participate in something like this?

no
sure.
That sounds pretty cool. Science project. :) I'd be in...

I would but I never get call backs lol. But if I do get a crazy traveling disc, I will be happy to post.

Now I did find a disc, and when I gave it to the guy He just looked at me puzzled. He lost the disc before Katrina at my local park. This park had over 25 feet of surging water and I found his disc a couple weeks ago. Talk about a nasty muddy disc lol.

Interesting, but I have yet to have only 2 discs returned, they were honest locals I throw with. All others have been added to the "finder's" bag as "finders keepers".

Just an idea to add to your club; since you dye discs, mail some out to members of DGRus.nice dyes by the way.Let those members "lose" your disc with marked instructions.Upon recieving the disc, said person notifies you, throws disc for a week, leaves disc in a somewhat obvious spot to find and the game is on.Send out 5 discs, return date or call  is by Christmas 2011 or 2012.

Now there is an idea!

I got a call on a river a few months back. I lost the disk at Kensington in Milford, Michigan last winter and he found it in Lemon Park in Indiana. I told him thanks but just keep it. Last week I was in Indiana and headed out to lemon park (required course to play if you are in the area. 5 different courses set up totally different and they are adding another two 18 links next summer) While I was wandering around looking for hole one on the silver course I asked some locals if I could ride along. Sure enough, after a couple holes I realize he has been using my disc for the last few holes! It was the same guy who called. Again, he offered the disc back, but after a summer, it was all his. Good folks out there at Lemon.

Make an official post, find a way to weed out the goofballs, pick a disc, play a round, take a pic, and send it off to the next guy. He plays a round posts the pic and sends it to the next guy. And....so on, and so on.

The DGRUS great disc adventure.

Sounds cool, I'm in. If you need a disc, I have one.

Snap the picture of the park/dgc you play/find disc, then send off.

Love it:
The DGRUS Great Disc Adventure

That would be a great name for this!

Sure !!!  I would participate . I have had Disc's returned to me from New York , Connecticut , Michigan , Arizona and Florida.

And I live in San Diego , California !!!!

Awesome idea to send one around. Also I would like the idea of sending one, having it signed by everyone and sent back after there is no more room for names. Would make for a cool wall hanger.
