The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I see this DGRUS club page as a fun and useful way to organize events at our Volusia County courses..

I don't know of the viability of a new club...in the sense of an actual 'not for profit' enity similiar to the other major clubs in our region....paid memberships, a Board of directors and all that.

What is your thought on that?

There really is not a club.
Just a bunch of people together getting it together in mostly an unorganized fashion.

Don't necessarily want a new club, just an organization that keeps all the course players in Volusia county informed as to what is going on and where, without feeling left out.
Don't care about by-laws memberships and so on.
Any money spent should only be for that day and day only.
No running Ace pools, no big tallying of scores to keep records of, no hassles of who is acting how and where.
Remove the POLITICS from all of it and guarantee a good time.

Daytona only has a few members in its club that is active.
DeBary and Reed Canal is getting more playing time than the Original Course, at Tuscawilla Park.

Does not matter, it would be nice to see others be part of what goes on in larger numbers in organized events at each park.

The idea is to help the NEW be involved. The NEW are not only at Tuscawilla Park anymore.
Exactly!!...What the main goal should be...is organizing, promoting and sharing information. The short term goal...Raise money for baskets at DeBary.
Yeah agreed. There are so many people out at DeBary that would love to be involved, but that does not mean we need to have a club with all the bullsh*t. Just a group of people that enjoy the sport and have regular playing times or so called non-organized tournaments where we play together for fun. Because what fun is it without a little competition? The sport is growing and we can help by just letting people be a part of something without having to be an organized club. We can still have a name though. That way people feel like they are a part of something.
