A suggested format for the finals:

In doubles, have the scoring players for the top 4 teams in the overall play each other as follows:

1 v. 4
2. v. 3

Given the current points standings, that would mean that the scoring doubles team from LCC would play the scoring doubles team from FSU (bringing 6, by the way...)....and WMU would play LTU.

Then, the singles matches would be based on the outcome of the doubles.

The scoring players from the team winning the 1 v. 4 doubles match would play against the scoring players from the team winning the 2 v. 3 doubles match.

Likewise, the scoring players from the team losing the 1. v. 4 doubles match would play against the scoring players from the team losing the 2 v. 3 doubles match.

That would make for quite the highly competitive day of golf.

Then, throw in all the Oberon you care to drink out of your MIDGC, 2007-08 pint glass, and let the drama unfold.

This might just be enough to turn me into a spectator for the singles matches!

Hey guys. Time to start nailing down dates and locations for Jan - May '09 events. Jeff is interested in moving the date for the finals later in May....What do you think?
I'm thinking of hosting the finals next year at the new course going in this summer at Newaygo State Park. I should be able to arrange for free or reduced camping for those of you who might be interested. This might make mid-May a more logical date for the finals.
