Correct Vic!!!!!

So the difference between REC and ADV Women is truely the experience levels, not Long/Short Tee Placements like the men's divisions.

Comment by TheBfunky1 on February 5, 2012 at 10:34pm

That is what I thought too but, didn't want to say it in case I was wrong. ALL short for AM women.

No women from longs!!!!! Adv or rec!!!!!

What is the difference between Rec and Adv women ?

The difference between Rec and Adv men is the tee placement.

So if Pattie and Tiffany jump to Adv women, will they play from the long pads ?

Comment by TERRY ROEDELL on February 5, 2012 at 7:29am

either way vic i would have to say rec girls will have more fun this weekend with adv women then they would playing with the rec guys.

I would never try to discourage her and she is a strong player. I just don't think she should let the term ADV in front of women be a reason to avoid the girls. Just for fun mention to her that I suggested them jumping up to adv women over men based on closeness of player ratings and skill vs. mens rec. It would be much more evenly matched. If not we will All be happy to have her in our group anyways.

Bfunk,

When I signed Pattie and I up, we were told that there are not enough women playing "Rec" so Pattie would have to step up and compete against the more advanced women playing or would have to compete against Men's Rec.

Since there are only "Advanced and Pro" women, Pattie does not stand a chance.  So she elected to compete against the Men's Rec.  Either way, she's in trouble.  I gotta hand it to her, she's a fighter.  That is why I have been trying to promote more "Rec Females" to sign up and play.

Just need two more and the "Rec Women" can have their own division and just compete against themselves.

Hey Vic...not to be a downer or a killjoy but...NONE of the ladies really compete with the mens rec. That is to say that by the numbers (last years scores, average scores etc.) even the ADV women aren't playing close to to the mens rec. I beleive that they (Pattie and Tiffany) would be  happier to play with players closer to their ability. Candy and Mary (Ferret) tried mens rec at the Cliff Stephens tourney and (playing poorly) I took 6th (224)...they were way behind in strokes (232,246). Look up some ADV womens scores vs mens rec, I think Pattie and Tiffany should give those ADV women a run for thier money.
