First-time basket owner after 3.5 years of playing...sooo stoked...bought a brand new Mach Lite less than two weeks ago and took it to Mission Bay this past weekend, set it up by the water but a good distance from anybody else so I could putt at it...it was good practice because of the wind coming off the bay...at one point some guys started throwing a football somewhat nearby, and occasionally one of their errant throws would come over by my basket...

I started telling myself that if they threw their football into my brand new basket and messed it up I would hit one of them in the face with one of my discs...unbelievably, within five minutes, after collecting my discs from the basket and walking away from it to putt another set, I turned around just in time to see one of the guys, arms outstretched, going for an over-the-shoulder catch like he's trying to shag a TD in the back corner of the endzone...he missed the catch but the football bounced INTO the chains for a skip ace...then, douchebag himself, not even breaking stride, plows right into and over my new basket crashing to the ground on top of it!!!

No effing way! Dude stands up and picks my basket up, and as I'm approaching, I immediately notice that one side of the basket has been crushed into the middle...as I get closer I see that one of the tripod legs at the bottom is also bent the wrong direction...I threw one of my putters directly into the ground and cursed at the guy, who's two buddies by now had rushed over to join him and survey the carnage..I didn't bother to ask the dude if he was ok...I only cared about my basket, which clearly wasn't ok...the guys started mumbling some apologies, but I just had to wave them away before I throttled one or all three of them...

I was able to bend the one arm of the basket back into shape and collapse the bottom of the basket in the field, so that repair was easy to make, but last night I had to put the tripod base on a vise to return it to shape and tighten the rivets to get it to work properly again...ultimately, no harm no foul, I suppose, as the basket is working fine and all, but I'm still madder than a hornet...
