This discussion thread is for documenting those holes that you would love to forget!

For me, it would be a round on the gold layout on hole 18. This is the hole that is across the back pond and up on the mound. I recorded a double circle 9. I threw two discs in the pond, one on the drive, then one from the drop, before finally making it over. After making it, I failed to lay up on the mound, and I proceeded to try to hit the putt, missing and leaving myself with a DOUBLE circle 9 in the end!

If you can imagine this...after Ianded I land back towards the next pad. I putted went by the basket over the mound and almost OB! The I tried to hit the putt again, missing (and going back to where I was....after missing putts two time in a row, I laid up my eight shot and got my nine. The worst thing about this was I have having a great round, and playing competitive with Breske and Rubotoe!

I know there are some nightmares to share out there! I have seen people lose up to three discs on some of the holes at the Branch!
Ironically the same weekend as my dream weekend! Hole 16 silver. 262' throwing from the woods to the house. I almost park the hole. Landing right on the rope from the putting contest leaving myself exactly 20' putt. No problem heck I hit a 50' putt to start the round on hole 2 for a duece and parked hole 3 for a two also.... yeah right. 5 putts later I walked away with a 6 and not even enough confidence to fill a thimble. Game set match last place choke fest insued. The final tag sort curse came through again!
That is insane! It seems like you can always have some successes and a couple nightmares at the Branch...

I started the second round in the lead group, and I went OB pond on Hole 2! Oops...Shot from the drop for a Circle 5! Then I went on to deuce 3 and 4, so I was back at even! A nightmare and a dream all in one! I had to fight hard psychologically to forget about the bad start and ended with two 55s...Like I said on the other thread, not good, but not bad either....It is often hard to restore confidence, but somehow I did it at DETCKO....
This is a story from Adam Harris from the DETCKO tournament/weekend... Enjoy!!! LOL!!!

I went out play this week and noticed my bag was partially empty from a rough weekend at the Branch. I count 2 drivers, 2 putters, and a mini missing. I seem to have left behind my red/yellow dye mini, and my red/blue splatter dye white star TL, somewhere as I played along.

I splashed my Blue Champion Barry 2003 Beast, in the first Sunday round (with initials SD and a 383 number on back). In the afternoon round, I got the pleasure of splashing my yellow APX and my black APX and my blowfly, ALL in the lake on 6. That little lake ate me up so bad I almost walked in with my boots on to retrieve ALL my "putters". Here is where you can laugh at my expense - yes three putters went in the water on three consecutive throws. Almost ruined my day with all 3 putters I brought all ended up in the same lake on the same hole in back-back-back throws - luckily when my blowfly spashed, it floated! As I asked how many holes were left to walk in wet boots, my group strongly recommended I not go walking in boots on, as they could see the blowfly floating towards the edge. The "triple cirle 10" I took did hurt my score, as I went from 2 over to 9 over in one hole. But the floating blowfly saved the day so I could at least finish the round with dry boots and a putter!

For the record - I won a pink Hydra as a trophy to remind me of that little debacle by #6 lake. I'm keeping the disc and printing the story up to tape it on back. Now I have the "I was so bad, its funny" disc right next to my ace discs on the trophy wall. Thanks for the permanent memory in a pink Hydra, kind of really made fun of a rough finish to my tourny and sent me home smiling.

(I'll come rake the lake if you want, after it warms up a bit.) If you find any of these I'll be greatful, as the TL and Beast are 2 of my favorite drivers....
Please feel free to laugh at my expense and share the triple cirle 10 story, as I'm sure you don't get too many of them. Had a great time despite leaving / losing half of my bag!
Adam
I would have to say I feel for Adam with this story that he sent Bmo and I. I felt that is belonged on this thread as it is a true Nightmare... Therefore, I have to add my 2 cents in because I sort of have a simlilar story in that I lost 3 Cobra's in that same pond... With me it was hole #12 trying to go over the pond up onto the hill where the basket is located. On Saturday during the tag match in the morning I went OB twice, once off the drive to loose a Proline Cobra and second off of the drop zone pad with a DX Aviar putter which luckily landed close enought to the edge to be able to be retrieved... I ended up finishing the hole with a double circle 6 after hitting a pretty nice putt up the hill to save that...

On Sunday during the actual tournament I lost 2 brand new DX Cobra's with the Beaver Branch Disc Golf Course stamp on them... Both were lost on that same hole #12 that I had lost the Proline one on the previous day... Therefore bringin my total to 3 lost Cobra's in two days on the same hole... Overall that was the worst thing the whole weekend because other then that I had a great time and can't wait until the next one. Let alone the next tournament at the Branch!

See you on the Course!!!
have you ever lost one one behind you?

well i have at the branch funny thing is its the same pond talked about hole 12s pond but i was driving on 13 what ????? you all are thinking how can you hit the pond that is behind you well it wasnt easy. driving off of 13 tee pad I cranked out my star TL and hit the first big tree on the left the disc make a loud crack and i never seen go. I looked for 15 mins or so but never found it came back early next morning before the tourney an looked again still no disc ?? i just though gone too the woods gods. so about a month or two later run into BMo at tourny and he hands me my TL , asked where did you find it , my dog retrieved from the pond ,
Sounds like a nightmare with a happy ending!
I recently watched a Circle 8 (SNOWMAN) on Hole 18 (Mound Hole - last hole coming back over the back pond). H-Bomb played "tennis" throwing it over the mound back and forth (after going OB pond initially). 5 QUICK strokes no one wants to see!
