The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Been There

this club is about how many friends we can make based on having been there. I've been through Oklahoma but made no DGRus friends there. Until now. So I'm looking for friends in every place I've been.

I have met some great people in my travels. I have met some killer folks in Topeka, Emporia, KS and some great people from Joplin and Springfield mo, how about a shout out to the Tulsa crew or the Fayetteville Ar. Oregon and California are always special to me as that is where I learned about Disc golf.

Tulsa is a sister city in Utsunomiya City.
It is believed that Discgolf ties two cities it is surely a day when.

This is sort of a been there story. I was at a local park, in Burl., VT, doing a demonstration with a group of people who are promoting an installation of a course in the park when a member of our committee pulled a disc out of his bag that was a disc my son had lost in FL. It had my sons name on it! Someone at the course in FL had sold it to my friend when he was in FL playing at my son's home course. We called my son in FL to see if he wanted it back. He said that as long as it was in VT that it had found its way home and should stay here in VT.

How many times have you had this happen - you're playing an out-of-state course for the first time, and you run into someone you know?

It usually confuses the heck out of me because it's harder to remember who they are because everything seems out of context.

I have made many friends through Disc Golf. I have friends all over the world. I still hang with the first people I ever played Disc Golf with 15 years ago. I always love to run into these people in the most unexpected Courses when traveling. Worlds is always like a homecoming for me.
