Disc Golfers do Good

We contribute to our communities in a lot of different ways. Food gatherers and other charity tournaments are what come to mind. Blood donation is another way, though not usually done in a group.

Let's get a count of how much blood has been donated in aggregate by the DGRUS community. I know there are more out there. If you've ever donated blood, even once, join up, and encourage others!

Comment by eric beich on March 12, 2009 at 7:23pm: I'm not sure how much, but I started donating blood a few years ago at red cross. then I started donating plasma last year for probably a kegs worth. seriously. you plasma givers know what I mean.

Comment by MonTTy #794 on March 12, 2009 at 5:17pm: I first donated in high school ('87) to get out of class. The next time was '97 to get out of work. Maybe 5 more times since then. The last time was because my hemoglobin was too high. Anyway, about 7 units total.

My blood type is B negative(rare), what is everyone else?

Comment by super_h on March 12, 2009 at 6:52am: i give blood 3 times a year. for the past 3 years. i work for the city of fort worth and they are the ones that put on the blood drive. its a good thing todo cause you never know one day you may need blood for anyreason.

"no heavy lifting, alcohol or disc golf for 24 hours"
