How Does It Work?

Three manufacturerers, Discraft, the Disc Golf Association, and Innova Champion, provide baskets for this program, which is limited to no more than six (6) campuses a year.

If a campus qualifies, then it orders 18 baskets from one of the above manufacturers, and pays for nine (9), as well as shipping and handling for all 18. The manufacturer ships eighteen (18) baskets.

Some of the qualifications:

- The course must be safely designed and the design approved;
- Finances to pay for the 9 baskets and s/h must be available;
- The course must be on property owned by the college or university;
- Only colleges and universities can qualify; and
- The course must be open to the general public.

Hi Terry,

The web pages for the Disc Golf Foundation that you provide above are not working. Is the organization still functioning, and if so, is there another place to go for information?

Much progress happening here - going to get price quotes on baskets for university administration to see. We will have to raise all our own funds, but I have a qualified team for that task!

Meeting set for Jan 7th.. Got the application off the webpage. Is there any kind of backup on these where they carry over apps from 08 to 09? or does it restart in 09?. Any recomendations on application? Look out VA disc golf is exploding (34 to 43 courses in 08)

I just received a verbal "let's do it" from the Athletic Director here at Cal State University San Marcos to install a golf course. It will probably take a year or so to jump through all of the administrative hoops, but it will be worth it. I now know where to go for baskets!!

On July 10, we notified the College of South Idaho that its grant for 9 matching baskets had been granted, and that its baskets would come from Innova Champion. Thanks, Innova Champion!
