It is very important that everyone who can make this meeting on Wed Mar 10 at 6pm to 8 pm get there a little early if you want a seat. Bring some friends along too.
A couple of years ago Dave Battaglia who works for parks and recreation for Eugene came to our club meeting and asked us to support the future of disc golf by filling out a city produced questionnaire. It turned out that once word spread, and copies were filled out and sent in to the city it was decided that the city Needed to have 6 courses (one for each area of the city). Eugene's master plan now includes those 6 courses as goals to accomplish. It was the show of support that caused this to happen.
Now we have the opportunity to have a huge mass of support for a course at Alton Baker park. There will be other user groups at this meeting representing their own points of view on disc golf. With a strong showing I think we will have enough eloquent voices to answer any concerns of naysayers, as well as showing a continued need for more courses. I am not sure if there are any action items happening. I believe it is a meeting to introduce the public to the proposed plan for disc golf at Alton Baker park, and to address any concerns such as "butterfly habitat" and other issues. Hope this clarifies things.

I think Andy and Bruce would do an awesome job of representing disc golf to the mayors of Oregon. I also think they would do a great job with a putting/driving clinic for disc golfers

I'm stoked that Forest Cole hit an ace. For those of you who don't know Forest, I swear this guy was working 40 hours a week on this course. Clearing fairways, pouring teepads, pouring pins, you name it this guy did it. Thanks, Forest. Nice Ace!

Your killin me with these sick graphics. Hole 4 is even cooler than the mockup. I'm gonna try to take a laminated copy of it to the meeting tomorrow and get some expertise from the people who know a lot more than I do about selling hole sponsorships.

Adam and I talked to the city today. Good steps forward. We are still waiting on good weather for the rest of the clean up around 1,2,17,18. But the city is going to give us gravel!! As in we don't have to pay for it!!. They also aim to extend the parking area, and are looking into bathrooms. Also on their agenda is to finish mulching debris piles. We should have a dumpster coming in a week or so, then we can empty our cans!

They are fairly excited about the usage, but asked that we respect the street sweeper.. apparently people have been leaving stuff on the gravel road, and the sweeper guy got flipped the bird. who would flip off a street sweeper anyways? Cause he is such an a-hole right? He just drives around cleaning up messes all day every day.. what an a-hole.

They want us to do a intructional day (when the weather is good) for a group of city mayors whom are curious about disc golf in their cities. Anyone up for mayoral disc golf in a suit and tie?

We can also put a bridge or two across the creek of sickness and death. As long as it isn't too permanent looking. some pressure treated 4"x4"s and planking should suffice.

Some dirty new pin positions are brewing. Stay tuned for bogies.

Ryan Cole is heading up a signage project.. I saw him out there with a range finder... schweet deal!

Did a little range finding today on a few holes. If you're curious, here are the pad to pin distances for 1, 2, & 4:

Hole 1A: 267ft
Hole 2A: 378ft
Hole 4A: 336ft

*Hey Adam, I saw the location for 8C! Pretty sick.
