I put in a new pin position on hole 9. Hope you guys dig it.

Does anybody want to help with some stuff out there?
If someone wants to put some hours in, I will match their time and help. Just trying to make the course fun and ready for the Eugene Celebration tourney.
I know it has been hot outside, but - could really use some help with everything. I had to do all the garbage cleanup myself last week... :)
Where are all the Eugene members?
Where is all the great help we had earlier?
When you go out their and play. Just remember that everything isn't happening by itself. The park doesn't just clean itself up, and the city does not share the responsibility right now. everything they do is because they want to, not because they need to or have to.

What I want to say, and what I will say on here is different let me tell you.
So, lets just hope I don't have to empty all the cans again by my little lonesome. If that becomes solely my duty... sweet..

but I won't have time for tee pads... pin positions... bridges... fairways... etc. You choose.

Like Scott Wales said, my empty threats aren't going to do anything, so... I have the most excelent solution!! wait and see!!

Heres a hint... in the future when you put, it will sound more like a thud, not a sexy ching ching..

Here's my number in case lighting hits one of you and you want to work:

The Race Is On!

Each Autumn, disc golfers from around the world gather at their local courses for one purpose: to throw aces! No putting, no approaching... just runnin' at the chains.

To add to the challenge and excitement, players all throw the same model disc: in past years this has been a brand new, never-seen-before Discraft prototype disc that is introduced each year especially for Ace Race. All participants receive a player's pack that includes two discs and other goodies. Player's package is valued at $67, and your entry fee is only $25!

August 7, 2010
10 AM or 2 PM (players can choose either start time)

Cottage Grove Disc Golf Course - N. Douglas Road *Cottage Grove, Oregon

Two rounds of 18 holes, one throw per hole per player.

Course layout:
Holes are generally between 180 and 250 feet (55 to 75 meters).

Entry fee: $25
REGISTER ONLINE OR mail $25.00 check made payable to:
Strange Disc Sports, Inc.
PO Box 171102
Spartanburg, SC 29301

** Player package: **
Guaranteed to be at least twice the value of your entry fee! The player pack will include two identical Discraft discs, a custom metal bag tag, Discraft sticker, plus a SuperColor mini and a premium ballcap. A $67 value!

Rules of play:
Players are required to use the player package discs, and only these discs. If a disc is lost, the player has the option of using the second disc from the package. Only one throw per player per hole. All players should have their own scorecards and mark "A" for aces (a hole-in-one) and "M" for holes on which they hit metal.

After all players in the group have thrown, discs are picked up and the group moves directly to the next tee. Players keep their scorecards for round two, using the next line on the card to record the round.

The player with the most aces after 36 holes is declared the winner. In case of ties, the number of metal hits is used as a tie breaker. If a tie persists, a closest to the pin contest is then used to determine the event winner.

Prize package:
Grand prize for each event is a Discraft merchandise package, including a bag and ten new discs.

Just to let you all know why you don't see me around the course. I am living near Grants Pass for the summer, taking care of a house and digging gold out of a stream bed. See you all when i am back in the Fall.

Ok Folks.

I am not going to sugar coat this. We have a garbage problem, and I am not happy about it. I met with the city this morning, and they are equally not happy about the overflowing garbage cans, and garbage everywhere else on trails, by tee pads.. etc.

Here's the deal. If if doesn't get taken care of. we will lose our park. I don't how else to motivate people to do help out in this area. All we have to do is empty cans once every 2 months or so, and dump them into the main dumpster, or stack bags next to it if it is full. If a few of you rotated, it would take you like a half hour, before your round of golf, once a year!

This situation is making us look bad. To top it, I spend alot of time dealing with this course, and it is monumentally frusterating that all people care about is playing golf on it. I have an extremely busy business, a new baby, and a house in remodel, and I still find more time to make things happen out there than anyone else. ??? Is ANYBODY out there who cares?!? Also, I am not discrediting all the hard work that has been put in. The people that have contributed solidly know who they are and shouldn't feel guilty about this e-mail.

On the up side, Joe and I built a bridge on hole 8 across the creek yesterday, and the city is beginning to move dirt around. They plan on having it all done by the first of august. cross your fingers.

But to be honest, since it seams that nobody cares about this park, I might just pull the baskets and wait till people care again. It seams people were really into it when the baskets weren't up yet. maybe that will light some fires again.

Sorry about negative email. Disc golf is free. Don't take advantage of it.

I am starting a Cottage Grove doubles to raise money on Tuesday night. I will post signs on the course, show up and play if you can

Hello every one! How are things going with the CG course? I only had a chance to play it just a few times before moving to Hawaii. Here we just throw at tree! Other then in tournaments then we make targets which are not to bad, but not like throwing at baskets... almost enough to make me move back!

Can you all do a work party next week? I'm thinking Tuesday? All day with various tasks ranging from garbage pickup, pin hole digging, pouring concrete, bridge building, etc..

Whos down>?

That makes it better, I thought it was still a par 3 which means I birdied!

glad you like 8c shaun. broke a post hole digger on it, but it was worth it. hanging the second shot out over the water is the rush i was looking for. it's a little weird that you can go OB and still get a par, but thats just another dimension that par 4 golf brings to the game. as par 4's go I think it's on the easier side.
