spin theory and members of DG Artists Group - please take a look at the discussion I started "who owns what" and please post your input. I'm tired of people not understanding that an artist working on a computer can easily spend 200 hours working on one design, whether it be a disc design, book cover of painting for the living room wall.

Spin we have changed the art requirements for the no foolin contest and the pay if you would go visit the PDGA site see if that works and might convince you to enter.
Thanks again for you earlier feedback.

not a problem... glad you did not take it the wrong way

Thanks spin for your comments I am not a computer artist I can draw free hand very well but I have no idea what it takes to generate that kind of art on a computer.
You did notice we are running 2 separate contests there if you noticed one for league artwork and one for our no foolin tournament. The league artwork will get you a disc mini and shirt plus membership to A3 which may not benefit you at all if you don't live locally. I will speak to the board about increasing the pay either in plastic or other and get back to you as soon as we come to a decision.
But like I said thank you for the feedback, I/we did not know the amount of

i somtimes don't think that non artists realize just how much work goes into a project like this...

Artwork to be submitted should be for a hot stamp, colormax, and super color

honestly that is a ton of work for the price of one disc... granted it is cool to have a disc with your own art on it but basicaly that is the one you keep for the wall.

you are talking about 10+ hours worth of design work for this project. I realize that you probly do not have the funds to hire a freelance artist (about $70 an hour) but one disc?? you might want to give him/her a minimum of 6 discs. that way they can keep one and sell the others for around 10-15 bucks a piece and at least make a little cash from the work invested.

just my thoughts when i first read this... i am not trying to be a jerk.. or anything

Hello Artists which is not me.
I am the president of A3Disc around Ann Arbor, MI.
We are looking for a artist(s) who is willing to design artwork for us.
If anybody is interested please contact me and i will tell you what we offer for compensation. We currently have 2 open requests for Art with deadlines and voting dates. You can view this information here http://discussion.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=901099&an=0&page=0#Post901099 if you would like. This is a link to the PDGA website which you won’t be able to post responses to unless you are a paid member but you can look at the information and let me know if you need more information.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm thinking on what to do next. probably a spring/summer sort of deal so I don't have to worry about it for a while.
