cbass,

what are your specific concerns?

I just signed up and listed some discs, but after reading things here I'm not so sure I should have. What's the deal?

Tino,

Try checking now, there was a small bug that is fixed now. You should be able to see the transactions and details. If you get screwed go ahead and send me the details as I will go after anyone who makes a habit out of stealing (also called mail fraud).

well, I lovethe discaroo site and idea, but I sent out 2 discs to 2 different people and I believe I got screwed on the deal. Now my trade actions have been removed so I cannot contact the people by email or leave negative feedback on their site. I dont understand how that happened but it says my trade actions are blank.

Alright, I updated the specific FAQ that Bruce quoted from to be clear that users aren't selling for cash.

http://www.discaroo.com/faq.asp#20

I also made the little warning next to where you set the price of your disc way more obvious.

Hopefully this will avoid confusion in the future. Thanks Bruce!

I am going to look into opening things up to Canada. Just didn't know it was possibly feasible.

Sorry your experience was misleading Bruce. I'll try to clarify things more on the site so it doesn't happen to anyone else. I do depend a lot on users like yourself to make the site better so I appreciate your honest feedback.

Shipping a disc or 2 to Canada is not much more money than shipping in the US, shipping a lot of discs is a different story because of the size and weight ... 1 or 2 discs can be put in a bubble envelope. Maybe get on USPS website and check it out. C'mon, prohibited shipping to Canada? WTH? Dude 90% of my disc golf gear was purchased online from the US.

I'm the guy and I'll stand by my statement. What I said is you've got a scam for sellers, not for traders, not for buyers, for sellers. I'll tell you about my experience.

An experienced Discaroo trader suggested I list some inventory on Discaroo. I said to him, "I'm looking to sell, not to trade," and he said, "Oh, you can sell on Discaroo."

So I go there and I set up an account. I click on selling related topics in the FAQ and it says in there that there are no transaction fees for selling. So I list one disc to see how this works. I list it for $10, not 10 Funny. There was a dollar sign right by the box where I listed. It sells right away. I e-mail the guy and ask if he wants to send a check or do paypal. He tells me he paid me in Discaroo Bucks.

So I go search around to find out what a Discaroo Buck is and I find out one Discaroo Buck is 70 cents if you have 150 of them.

Dude, that's a total scam. Its a violation of federal law to use the $ sign to refer to currency other than $. It is certainly a deceptive practice under the Michigan Consumer Practices Act to use the $ sign to refer to funny money. It is a deceptive practice to use the word "selling" when what you mean is "trading for Discaroo funny money."

I'm a stand up guy. The dude who bought my $10 disc last night knowing none of this already has his disc in the mail. But I've got nothing. And if I ever have 150 nothing, maybe you'll send me a check for $105.

Yeah, I haven't done anything with Canada. Wouldn't the shipping be prohibitive? This is the only reason I haven't done it. In the beginning you could sign up from anywhere but that fell apart the first time someone realized they had to ship a disc to Europe. Not a good situation. Wouldn't Canada be the same, albeit less than Europe?
