Shipping a disc or 2 to Canada is not much more money than shipping in the US, shipping a lot of discs is a different story because of the size and weight ... 1 or 2 discs can be put in a bubble envelope. Maybe get on USPS website and check it out. C'mon, prohibited shipping to Canada? WTH? Dude 90% of my disc golf gear was purchased online from the US.

I'm the guy and I'll stand by my statement. What I said is you've got a scam for sellers, not for traders, not for buyers, for sellers. I'll tell you about my experience.

An experienced Discaroo trader suggested I list some inventory on Discaroo. I said to him, "I'm looking to sell, not to trade," and he said, "Oh, you can sell on Discaroo."

So I go there and I set up an account. I click on selling related topics in the FAQ and it says in there that there are no transaction fees for selling. So I list one disc to see how this works. I list it for $10, not 10 Funny. There was a dollar sign right by the box where I listed. It sells right away. I e-mail the guy and ask if he wants to send a check or do paypal. He tells me he paid me in Discaroo Bucks.

So I go search around to find out what a Discaroo Buck is and I find out one Discaroo Buck is 70 cents if you have 150 of them.

Dude, that's a total scam. Its a violation of federal law to use the $ sign to refer to currency other than $. It is certainly a deceptive practice under the Michigan Consumer Practices Act to use the $ sign to refer to funny money. It is a deceptive practice to use the word "selling" when what you mean is "trading for Discaroo funny money."

I'm a stand up guy. The dude who bought my $10 disc last night knowing none of this already has his disc in the mail. But I've got nothing. And if I ever have 150 nothing, maybe you'll send me a check for $105.

Yeah, I haven't done anything with Canada. Wouldn't the shipping be prohibitive? This is the only reason I haven't done it. In the beginning you could sign up from anywhere but that fell apart the first time someone realized they had to ship a disc to Europe. Not a good situation. Wouldn't Canada be the same, albeit less than Europe?

I've got a favor to ask one of you devotees. Apparently my PDGA membership just lapsed on the 15th I guess. Some guy just called Discaroo a scam on the PDGA forums and it would be great if someone could respond (you have to have current PDGA membership) while I renew my membership.

It seems clear that we aren't using real money since it says "NOT USD" next to the disc price.

Nice of him to give me a chance to answer his concerns.

Thanks ahead of time to anyone who takes up the keyboard sword for Discaroo!

I thought your message was great. I just wanted to affirm it and add a couple more ideas to the mix of how to stay safe.

I am interested in hearing from anyone about the new additions to the site. Love em, like em, hate em? Click the banner at the top of the site to know what is new.

Stevo, hey my message came out kinda wrong, sorry, your right, just because a trader has no feedback, doesn't mean it's not worth "TRYING" a trade. Infact I've traded with quite a few "No or Little feedback traders" on Discaroo and had "GREAT trades"!! I've made sure to give them the "Positive Feedback" vibe so other traders and newbie's will feel comfortable in doing a trade.

My suggestion was more for someone who is doing a Discaroo trade for the "1st. time" and is a little worried about getting taken. As far as photo's go, your right, it's hard to see edge damage, I always put in the comments of my trades if a disc has edge damage and at what level the damage is, I too list that I have "sharpie personal info". on all my disc's as I do PLAY with them and would like to get it back if lost out on the course. I'm not a "just a trader", I'm trading to fill out my bag with primary's and back up's or trading to try a different disc. So your right, don't be afraid to "risk" with a fellow trader so far I've been very happy with my trades with all level's of feedback and LOL, I still prefer a photo of the disc if possible!

Take care, have FUN, Throw Plastic!

Thanks for the props Greg! Also, thanks for suggesting this group. I can already see it being useful. The only reason I don't want your Xcal is that I can't throw it! The Destroyer is max for this little arm.
